Said it was Dept of Treasury and if I didn't call back it would go to police,magistrate or court

I got the same phone call.  Is this a real problem that needs to be addressed or a prank phone call?

Got the same threatening message. This is a scam trying to extract money for gullible people.

IRS scam-ignore it and do not call them back. *67 does not work on toll free numbers like 844.

The number in question had called and left a robo voice message that I owed the department of treasury.  Called back to tell them to remove my number from their list and they threatened me that I owed taxes and that I would be going to court.  Woman with a foreign accent, she finally hung up after my repeat to not call me and remove my number.

Its a scam. These scumbags should be found and punished
