It's a debt collector

They called me about a debt and used the usual scam script about having documents to file at my home or place of employment.  When a debt collector sues you, there is no further warning.  They just file the lawsuit and send out a process server to your home most of the time.  The next thing you would really hear would be a knock at the door from a private process server.  This is a civil matter, a civil lawsuit, not a criminal matter.  So I called the number back and someone answered saying his name was Officer something.  The police do not get involved in a debt collector lawsuit.  That is how I know this is a scam and not a legitimate debt collector.  My wife took out an online payday loan on me over five years ago.  Probably about 7 years ago at this point.  They stole my personal information have sold my information and now I get lots of illegitimate calls from scammers posing as debt collectors.  That is what these people are.  Don't pay them a dime.  It is not a real debt and it will not pay off anything and they will just keep on calling you anyways.

They left me a voicemail said that they were to serve me at my home place of employment said I owed 272 dollars for there client something about midland finance or payday loan group person wouldn't give me the number directly to their client I advised she send me proof of me owing this to my email she said she would have the processing team send it to me and I have yet to receive the email lady I talked to said her name was Nicole Allen

The number called my job as a recording. I called the number back and a guy answered and said officer and I couldn't make out the name. I had told him that they had called my job and he then said let me connect you to the right department. I then spoke to a lady. She had told me that I would receive court papers for a garnishment with in 24 hours if I didn't set up payment arrangements. When I asked what it was for the lady informed me that it was for a payday loan that I took out through midland funding. I ended up contacting midland funding and they had told me that it was a scam that I never had a loan through them. Mind you I recently filed bankruptcy. The lady then told me that she would be waiting for my call back on Thursday and her name was Nicole Allen

Was left a voicemail where the caller never said who they were just that I had to talk to someone about "this Matter" but the name they gave was hard to hear, USF or something like that? and that failing to do so would make early processing of my documentation, and that I can contact the office at their number, but I never sent documents to anybody so assume this is a scam and just ignore.
