- ALICE DELGADO| 5 repliesI received a phone from them stating I would be served court documents, I almost didnt call but I ended up doing so anyways.. Thank God I did, I would have missed my court hearing!
- Gulliblesame as others who have commented...
- not surewhen i called them back, it was a financial consulting company. Sage Lincoln Financial in Ontario CA
- Sandra LambI received a call asking for my adult daughter who lives in Arizona. Her last name is Nunes (pronounced "Noons" but they mispronounced it as Nunez). I hung up and they called back and left a "very urgent" message that required immediate attention. They said the matter was time sensitive or further action would be taken. I wanted to find out who this company was before I notified my daughter, and when I called them and asked what their name was, they said "SL Financial Firm." I looked up that name on the internet, and did find a company by that name but it didn't sound like anything that would be contacting my daughter. I read online that a lot of financial scam calls are coming from 844 numbers and that they target Spanish speakers. I wondered if they called my daughter because they thought she was Hispanic.
- Caller: SL Financial Firm
- SandraI received a call with a voicemail from a local Alexandria, KY number that told me to call this 844-512-7855. They also left this same message about a case number and that I had been notified. I fell for it and called back - they had a name for the supposed complaint; however, it wasn't mine.

- APThese people called my old work number, which got forwarded to my voicemail... never said a company name... left a message saying there was a "complaint filed against me"... and left the 844-512-7855 call back number...
This is highly suspicious to me. For one, if there was a complaint I would think I would be getting some sort of legal notice in the mail... for two, my credit is excellent and I don't owe anything past due.
Also, not sure how this came through on my old work number.
I do not plan to call back at this time. - Josh| 3 repliesI was left a message today saying I had documents on hold for me, says it is a time sensitive matter and gave me a reference claim number. I called the number they gave me(844-512-7855)-they called from a local number, and a man said there would be a court case for an old checking account that I had for charge off. They had the right account number for a checking account that I closed in 2011. They said that I owed court costs and my bank was suing me for over $1000 total. They said they had tried to contact me to settle out of court but couldn't get a hold of me asked If I wanted to settle out of court for $500. I said I would call my bank and call them back. The guy gave me a different number to contact him at.
- BigA replies to JoshBanks don't sue people over bad checks. The only thing you would owe the bank are the fees. The person you gave the check to would be the ones suing you. They have a limited amount of time to bring a case. 4 years would probably be too long. However, read the following because this is a common scam for criminals to try:
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

- debbie replies to Joshwas this a scam?
- CarlObvious scam. Left message on answering machine, botching my name, saying they had "formal papers," leaving this callback number, and giving a "case number." Nothing more than a phone version of a common internet scam technique.
- Caller: Did not state
- LibitMessages in my voice mail... never said a company name... left a message saying there was a "complaint filed against me"... and left the 844-512-7855 call back number. This is highly suspicious to me; if there were a complaint, I would be getting legal notification in the mail. Also my credit is excellent and nothing is past due. I do not plan to call back.
- kmlrReceived a vmail - marked urgent - saying they had a delivery of formal documents. Urgent message and that I have been notified. Gave me a case # 15-124-923-XX (XX would be state code) and told me to call 844-512-7855.
- Miss B| 3 repliesI received a phone call from a local area code telling me to call 844-523-0095 and gave me a case number to reference. I was told this account was from a bank that I had not used since 2004-2005 and they are saying that I had an account in 2007-2009 which is untrue. I even called my local sheriffs department to inquire about these numbers. A deputy called the lady back and after speaking with her he called me back and said he found in a bit fishy even after speaking with the lady. Has anyone gotten this callback number? They told me I owe over $2,000.00 for an overdraft that took place. They never even specified this overdraft amount but said it went up $35 each day it went unpaid. Said that they had sent me papers to my old address in February and they were never signed for and now it is to late to send me any information regarding this case via US mail and it had to be emailed so that I could fill it out and get the signed document back via fax ASAP. No information regarding the supposed account came in my email just one page for debit/credit card info and one page with stipulations on payment arrangements. When I told the lady that I had already been scammed this year and wanted proper documentation sent to me she said hey you called me asking questions about this account and I told her yes because I had received a phone call stating that I had 24 hours to contact her or I would be having a civil suit against me and attorney and court cost added to this supposed debt. This is so bogus and if this is a scam it will be the second attempted scam on me this year. So then I look it up on Google and find pretty much nothing except this site.
