This number appeared multiple times warning that I might have a virus on my computer that might hack into all of my accounts and steal personal information... and that all I needed to do was call this number so that they could take care of the issue. Has anyone else had this experience?

I have not called the number at all and my computer and accounts are safe.

Shut down your computer NOW and contact a qualified bricks-and-mortar IT specialist for assistance. Your computer has been infected with ransomware.

PS--The longer you keep your computer on, the more damage it will do. I learned this from an immediate family member who works in the IT industry.

it is a scam!!!!!! i called it one time and its some where in India... i told them about this pop up and they did not really know which one it was...and then they ask all these personal questions that your bank wouldn't ask... then i told them that i was going to ask people about this and they told me to keep it a secret?... sounds very fishy... Do not trust everything on the internet!!!!

Here's what to do and they also call under the number 844 515 3773.  Every time it pops up, dial the number and waste their time.  I always do this as it costs them money.  Pass this on.  If tens of thousands of people call the number and just waste their time then it'll cost them too much to keep their scam going.

I took up 10 minutes of their time today.  If thousands of people do this without buying then it'll take up hours upon hours upon hours and the more you do this the less likely they'll continue.

Remember do not buy anything from them.
