- JRodThey called my mobile phone #. They claim to be with CIGNA. I called CIGNA toll free number on my insurance card number. They put me on hold and they (CIGNA customer service) called the number three times. Each time they were asked to key in their phone number but nobody answered the call.
CIGNA advised me not to call them back and just ignore them.
As usual, they are a SCAM !!! - Karen the CNACalled my client. Voice recording. Says that they're Cigna and that they said they were calling about his medications and treatment plan. They did ask for him by name. But they are not one of his insurance companies. After reading the other comments, I'm certain it's a scam.

So ANOTHER frustrating day of dealing with customer service representatives that are NOT helpful at all. I wish they trained them more, especially about things of this nature.
I have received several calls from "CIGNA" about my moms Medication and treatment plan from 1-800-627-7534. This is a blocked call that does not show up on my "Mr. Number call list so I can not effectively block it. They did leave a message with a 1-844-560-5741 number to call back to. When I called the top number they even had an official sounding message. This was an obvious scam to me as it would be a local office number if it was truly about that, but what about a not so savvy elderly person who is from a generation where doctors are Gods and where your medical cover is imperative?
However, I did call the office my mom goes to and the CS rep there looked up the number I gave her and said she didn't see it as one of theirs but that I should contact customer service to confirm as they don't have any information on the insurance side (she was on the medical side). I called and gave her all my moms details and she confirmed they were not reaching out to her. When I asked if she wanted the information to pass along she said I needed to call the local police. I then asked if she wanted the details to give to other customers or another department and she wasn't the slightest bit interested.
SOOOOOO, I went online to Cigna Customer Service (of course had to search for reporting fraud as they didn't have that under contact numbers.....AHHHH) and found the information on how to report Health Care Fraud (see below).
How very frustrating that trying to protect my parents from people who are targeting the elderly that you find such apathetic people unwilling to help. NEITHER CS rep gave me the fraud info at their own company and one wasn't even remotely interested in helping out further than to confirm what I asked about.
This is not an isolated incident either. I get the same calls from my dads insurance too. Some human beings are just so DESPICABLE! Anyone who has time for these elaborate scams directed at the elderly certainly can find a regular job!
Please repost so we can ensure more elderly people are not harmed.

- DonSame as other posters - msg on my cell phone to call toll free 844-560-7741 about medication & to "pass the information along". Obviously not an authentic call. A scam call. Caller ID says from a 978 (MA) area code but this means nothing as the scammers can make any phone number appear in the caller ID. It looks like a fallout from the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield massive data breach. Or any other number of recent data breaches. But as the call relates to healthcare, I am guessing the Anthem data breach,. Or perhaps the US Gov't data has been breached as i Medicare, etc. DO NOT call the phone #, & report the call to your insurance company.
For all I know, area code 844 is NOT toll free, and you will be charged a per minute feee while they put you
on hold, etc. This is an old scam...- Caller: no name given
- SusanReceived a call from one number asking that I call back to a different number: 844-560-5741 to discuss my medications and treatment plans. I have not called back due to what I've read online from other victims of this apparent scam
- Caller: Cigna health spring
- BethCalled me today. Pretended to be CIGA. Left a message the same as the ones stated above.. Was suspicious because the number they called from 978 9336927.. Caller ID said CIGNA..
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- A Nony MousePhone id showed it was from my health insurance so I answered. Was a recorded message asking if I was (first name), yes or no. I do say yes to a recorder or anyone I do not know. When I did not answer, they voice asked me have the person call back at this number in reference to a prescription. Called my insurance co - this was not from them. Tried to use their name for fraud.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
