Screen froze. Message said to call 844 564-9252. Microsoft logo was on screen

It seems NOT Microsoft calling.  It is a thief who wants remote access to the computer.  Never grant that to an unknown cold caller.

Fake "Microsoft" telemarketer/"technician". Microsoft warns that they never make unsolicited calls.

This is not Microsoft number instead they are 3rd party technician who work on all platforms. They only callback when you are registered with them.

844-564-9252 number is registered with legitimate organisation who provides software development services including mobile app development. They never call back untill you are not registered with them. Please beware of calls who ask for remote control without any reason. Such caller might harm your computer.
