If you pay a penny to these leeches its your own fault do not give them a dime

This is the message I rec'd - Fraud
This call is to track _____ I am in contact with regards to an ongoing investigation to be against your name and social security number. I need a return call from you or your representing counsel in regards to these actions , my office number is 844-600-7765 if there is no response your case will be listed as a segment noncompliance and turned out to the appropriate party .  We will be available until 5 pm this afternoon, please return this call  today you have offically and legally been notified of these actions.

Here we go again....

Complete fraud.... a pre-recorded message, claiming they are legally notifying you of charges being pressed against you. If ever you ARE unsure of a call like this...Call your local court house, I did that once when my inlaws told me they received a call saying there were warrants out for me... (they have the scammers my contact info!! arg), and the court house checked, and of course no warrants, or outstanding state/federall debts!

So these calls are scams? I'm very worried should I call them back

Go to ftc.gov and learn your rights about debt collection.

Do these people not have a life other then worrying other people !

In a majority of the states they can not have your arrested for unpaid debts nor can they have you arrest for bad checks or fraud for defaulting on a payday loan.  Defaulting on a debt is a civil matter and can only be handled by filing a lawsuit against you.  They probably have purchased the debt  for the original party in a bulk sale where they pay monies on the dollar for bad debts.  So chances are even if they sue you they would be able to meet the legal requirements of the original debt disclosure if you challenge them.

Threats and scare tactics violate the Fair Debt Collection Act.  but it is really difficult for these companies to be tracked because they change their phone number as often as they change their underwear.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

These people keep harnessing me on a debt that is over 10 yrs old that was caused by identity theft.
