Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.

Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocking device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information, or visit Amazon or similar sales site.

If you cannot use or afford to buy such a tool, then:

• Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service

• Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.  

• If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scam" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

• Another option, for both smart and "dumb" cell phones:  Assign a "silent ringtone" as DEFAULT.  Then, assign your favorite ringtones to all known friends / family / business numbers.  That way, you will hear rings ONLY from those you wish to contact!  You will not hear scammers' rings, even if they change their number!  (This is also called "whitelisting").

Received the same message as Rob got; however, I called back and gave my name

Two weeks ago Pierre called to say he was looking at $50,000 giveaway...this week Bryce called to say he was looking at $25,000 giveaway....(Funny, they sound just alike).  The number of unwanted calls has increased since I reentered our phone number on the government's do not call list.  Hmmm?

Got the same call from Bryce.  He called twice and left the exact same message within a week.  I just deleted both times since he didn't specify any name in the vm.  

Had the same message.  It seems as soon as I registered on the Do Not Call Registry, all these off the wall telemarketers and scammers started calling.  It's ridiculous.

2/2/15... Male caller (Bryce?) about sweepstakes entry and needing to verify info.  Caller ID said "Distribution 708-658-0117"  with message asking us to call back at 844-604-0006.

I got the same message also (they finally left a message on my machine after they got it every time that they called, twice a day. Seven days a week for over a month). I did not call back nor do I intend to. I goggled the number and came to this site.  I knew it was crap and am glad to see thay my suspicions were correct.

Just got the same call from Brice saying that I had registered for this gift of $25,000 and needed to call soon. Did not ask for a name.  I see that two folks said they did win but didn't say if it was $25,000 or what or how they received their win.  They said they were from Gift Recovery.  It came up on my caller ID as Distribution from a number of 312-624-5511. The search said it was in the Denver area.  Any other winners?

Got the same robocall from "Bryce" twice within a one week period.  Suspicious because they don't say what drawing or contest you supposedly entered; and because they don't address me by name.  The same exact message an be played to thousands of people!  Total scam.

I got the call today from Bryce.  Funny, so how many winners are there?  Usually there's just 1.  Scam
