I recieved that message too and deleted it thanks to this site. It is a scam that pretends to be the CRA

Got 2 calls yesterday morning and afternoon. Crooks

Just received a call saying they were from CRA. They said my account had gone to collection agency and they were sending someone here.  Getting really tired of these calls. And if can say so they had better dress warm because it's freezing cold here.  Yet another number I have to remember not to answer. I can handle it but my poor wife gets so upset when these calls come in   One of these days a call like this could possibly do great harm to someone in poor health.

I have received the same message twice today (8:50am & 12:31pm).  Knew it was a hoax as my taxes are always current.  Wish there was a way to deal with this scammers.  So frustrating!!!

left an aggressive message that was a digitized voice.  The voice message started after the automated recording started. The partial sentence seemed to suggest they would seize our assets.  They were claiming to be either the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), or, a Bill Collection Agency collecting CRA taxes that are in arrears.  The demand was to call this "Tax Defaults" number immediately, or to have our attorney call them.  The caller stated that a Bill Collection officer would be coming by soon with the necessary paperwork.

I got the exact same thing yesterday. I actually just listened to it a few minutes ago on our answering machine.  This happened to me last year also and it was a live person on the phone saying there was a warrant out for my arrest with the RCMP. The first thing I did was to google the phone number because I knew I didn't owe the CRA any money. When I found out it was a fraudulent number I called it anyway. Now whenever I get these kind of calls, I like to play with them a little and waste their time. It just makes me feel better...everyone should do it to keep these scammers from making more calls. I just feel sorry for the elderly or intellectually challenged. I don't think you have to be a scholar to figure these guys out, just have a little common sense is all.

Can someone tell me why the government can not trace these idiots, and then wonder why we do not trust revenue canada.
