Keep getting the following text message
"Hey, someone you know nominated you! Check it out - irl.co/dl Reply HELP for help, STOP to unsubscribe"

Me too. I haven’t clicked on the link. Seems spammy

Unfortunately I clicked on the link and gave them my number (Even though I guess they already had it anyways since they texted me). Now I'm scared to be honest.

Just your usual spammer that somehow got your number. The link will take you to a website which links you to the app store. Nothing to worry about. You can always reply “stop” like I did, which apparently “blocks all texts sent from this number”, as it sent back to me. I blocked them anyways lmfao. Don’t be too scared :))

IT IS A scam. Basically it directs you to download an app from the iPhone App Store. The app then takes all the contacts in your phone, it spams your contacts to also join the app, AND it compiles the info for scammers or spammers to steal and obtain personal info. Text spammer. Texted me about 8 times and call blocker on my iphone would not stop it. Also had Verizon block it and that didn't stop it either. If I get one more I am going to call Verizon back. Wants to direct you to a web site to download an app. DONT DO IT!

Recieved a text from this number saying "Hey, someone has nominated you" with a link and an emoji face. Did not click the link and deleted the message

Do NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!! You will be infected with a REMOTE ADMINSTRATION TOOL that will take over access of your phone INCLUDING messaging all of your contacts!!!

Thank you!!  I’ve received 2 texts from different 844 numbers with the same nomination message.  I haven’t clicked on them, thank goodness.  Do you know how to get these blocked?

Unwanted Text Messages

Forward unwanted text messages to 7726 so that your carrier will block them. Some carriers do not accept that code and if that is the case then contact your carrier about how to block unwanted text messages. Also, never, ever click on a link as it will probably install something nasty to your phone that you really will not want to deal with and never, ever respond to one because lets them know that they have a good number with someone on the other end.  It will result in more calls and texts.

I got the same text.  They are busy little bees!  My text was from 844-847-8711.

It kinda scares me because a random number just texted me saying that someone voted for me

Looked some stuff up about it because I didn’t click it and deleted the message
