Another scam, I was told I was going to be served on a loan I already paid over a year ago. I called and told them that I would like to be seved at my local police department. They said they would not go to the police department.  They had some old info on me.  Not sure how they got my info though. Kind of scary. Hopefully someone will do something about these crooks.

how do you know it is a scam?  the called and said there was a formal allegation against my husband on a document they received today.  gave me a claim number and told me "you've been formally served".  don't have any outstanding debts…

They can't serve u over the phone. Also if u do not have any outstanding debt it's obviously a scam. Even if a paper is served to you make sure you verify it through the court system. There have been reports of fraudulent papers being served.

I just got a phone call from this number saying they have my work address and will be going tomorrow at 3pm to serve me. I filed a police report and gave them the ladies name and phone number! I have no clue how they got my info but a stop needs to be put to this now!

I got  a call today from this number on my husband said this is the only warning he will get  want to confirm our address or place of work to send papers to sever him but they said he was served on the phone  said a claim came to his desk this morning

i just got a call from this same number saying the exact the same thing for my sister!  How did they get my cellphone number..never said where they are from and it was about some old thing from 4 years ago..I'm calling my local police dept.  thanks for the information on this number!

I just received a call from this # saying there was a formal allegation against me and I could settle it today for $300 - I told the Sr. Cash Manager (who by the way said he'd talk to his Director) that I wouldn't pay this, why hadn't I been notified 4 years ago at the time of the alleged incident.  He said to me, "we'll investigate and if you hear nothing back, then we've solved the matter".  Had my banking information and social and this could potentially be added to my credit report.

Also, a "private locator" by the name of Ronnie Yates called and told me to contact the number and gave me a claim #.

they are a scam do not pay these people anything. they will suck every dollar from your debit card and bank account they are not legit

they have me over 2 mths non stop I'm so tried of this people calling...They also told my wife she owes money on a loan she never apply for over a year and they want her to pay them and if not she will be serve with papers also.

listen these people are not a scam its for a payday loan that i took out and it is most likely the same for everyone on here but no one on this site wants to take responsibility for their action like paying back a payday loan

Funny thing - per federal law, debt collectors MUST mail a debt validation letter showing a person owes money and that they have the legal right to collect said money.  Refusal to mail this DV letter within five days of their first call is a violation of federal law.  As such, no one should pay unless they receive this proof of debt/proof they can collect - per federal law.

Yes, it IS a scam when people are getting calls and they did NOT take out a loan, or the loan was already paid back to the original creditor, and when people are being threatened with service of court documents.
