- DonnaThe number calls asking for another employee saying there is some sort of complaint against her and she has been "notified" they state she needs to contact them as there is only one way to handle this situation. The caller sounds quite threatening, I have no idea if the person he is asking for has done anything or not as she does not work at this location any longer.
- Jerry VincentThis number is calling me at work saying I haven't paid on an account, which was paid in full over 2 1/2 yrs. ago. They sound very threatening as well. They won't leave me alone!
- LReceived call stating their name Ross Chambers & saying there was some "claim" file against me in my city of residence.
They even provide a claim number. Than is goes on to state they are giving me an opportunity to rectify the issues by calling the 844.647.7515. - PA GuyThese Jerks Just Called My Job This Morning & Left A Threatening Message Stating That There Is A "Claim" & "Charges" Filed Against Me Regarding An Outstanding Payday Loan From 2012. Even If This Were True, It Is Totally Illegal In PA To Leave A Message Like This In A General Voicemail Box Without Speaking Directly To The Actual Person. I Called The Number Back & They Said I Owe $630 Dollars On An Unpaid Payday-Type Loan From 3 Years Ago. Now, Granted, I Have Taken Out Some Payday Loans In The Past, So It's Not Surprising That My Personal Info Is Available To These Crooks. Of Course When I Started To Ask Questions & Challenged What They Were Saying & Asked Them To Send Me Something In Writing, They Are Ready To Hang Up On Me.

- cheryl| 1 replyOn March 27,2014 received a call from unknown caller stating his name was Ross Chambers and he was calling in regards to a claim he received on his desk in New brunswick. He said he needs to verify a good time and place to issue a formal claim to me either at my residence or with my employer. He said their are claims and allegations against me. He has paperwork that needs to get in to my hands. so call his office at 844-6477515. need to refer to claim number nj1948-838. then he says i have been officially notified. Received another call this morning April 1,2014 saying he is Ross Chambers and that he was calling again because he gave me the opportunity to call the lawfirm handling the claims against me and he has my job address and home address. He names the correct streets but not the exact address should i report this to the police station also.
- Alfalfa replies to cherylThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
