Message said there was a visa alert for my cell number - glad to know it's confirmed to be spam, not so glad so many people were targeted.

Got the same text from that number saying VISA ALERT FOR ( Then my phone number followed in the text)..... Called it and it said my Visa card is locked. Robotic message. Didn't go any further with it..... Figured it was gonna lead to them asking for my card number so they could be a SORRY EXCUSE FOR A LIFE ON THIS EARTH!!!! #GETAREALJOB!!!

Same here. Visa alert on husbands phone which isn't associated with any accounts

Got this text and hung up when they asked for card number. I am pretty sure it's a scam.

Asking for my visa on a recording saying my visa was locked & they needed my card number - hung up!!

Always call the number on the back of the card.

I called the # back & they said my visa was locked & they wanted my Card number - I then hung up!!! I believe this 844 number is fraudulent !!

Just got a text saying "Credit Union alert" for my number.

I got it too—I'm actually with a credit union so it caught me off guard

Got the same text from the same phone number and I live in Alaska too. Call my real Visa phone number and they was surprised as me!!! Scamming people for info probably, stolen info like your cell phone number......

Got a text message saying visa alert call 844-698-0680. I immediately went to my online banking app and it wouldn't let me access my account so I called the number. I was immediately asked for my 16 digit Visa card number which surprised me. I entered it assuming it was legit since I wasn't able to access my online banking acct. It said you entered if this is correct press 1, but never repeated the number. Then it said enter your 4 digit expiriation date. I thought it was strange since normally I'd be asked to verify my birth date or last 4 digits of my social so I hesitated. I decided to enter it anyways knowing it wouldn't do them much good even if it was a scam since I only have a couple bucks left on that account anyways. Again it said you entered press 1 if this is correct. Then it asked me to enter my 4 digit pin number so I immediately hung up instead. I know this is definitely a scam so I'll be going to the bank tomorrow and paying $5 to have my card replaced.

There is a number on the back of your VISA card. Why didn't you call that number?
In fact, call it now and ask them to block all new transactions to your card number !!

Same text message about 7 hrs ago. Just block them. Don't call them. Obvious scam.

I received the same text message saying visa alert and to call this # back. A recorded woman's voice answers and she tells you your card has been locked and asks for your card #. I called my Visa carrier and they agreed that it sounded like a scam because my card showed no problems.

Just got another text from this number 844-698-0680, that Citibank alert and to call this number 844-765-4443
the Citibank text was upper and lower cases..idiots
