- Phone userA lady with a thick accent that I could barely understand (possibly Asian) called me from a different phone number that is local to me (might have been spoofed) and left a message for some guy I don't know to call this 844 number and also left some alleged case number to refer to. Other than her saying it was a time sensitive matter, I couldn't understand what this was regarding because I couldn't understand her accent. My guess is it's some kind of phishing call because I have had my phone number for 15 years and have never heard of the person she claimed it was regarding.
- Caller: Couldn't understand anything from her accent except for the word "Services"

- DPKeeps calling/texting to contact them to prevent escalation regarding your file regarding verification file services on behalf of Central Management. If I do not contact them they will reach out to my place of employment. When they did call my place of employment, I told the woman to stop calling me and my ex husband and to not call my place of employment again. The woman starting yelling at me so I hung up. I did some research to find out that they are pretending to be a process server and if you send them money they will make your case file go away.

- C TraversJust called me stating they were looking for my father they had a document that needed to be delivered. They had his old address that was correct but moved somewhere else. they told me it was a complaint that was sent from an agency FBS. They gave me a this number to give him with a case number. She even asked me to read it back to her. Stated it was time sensitive. She was really persuasive she almost got me. Neithless to say I didn't relay the message to my elderly father. The lady stated her name was Victoria but she had a heavy accent.

- Shed some lightSCAMMERS WITH ROTATING NUMBERS AND EMPTY THREATS
Avoid these bottom-feeders at all costs. They called me from a local number and told me to Central Financial Management at 877-519-0982, but change their number like roaches scattering under light- Other #'s I found associated to Central Financial Managemtn-877-662-0695, 888-592-6579, & 888-485-9312. They claimed I had an old loan and that a so-called “client” named ASSured Financial Partners was suing me and a locator was out on the field to "locate me" to serve sealed documents- Total lie — They said they made the attempt- another lie, due to me having a camera system set up all around my house and the alleged debt is past the statute of limitations. They threatened wage garnishment and property liens anyway. Illegal scare tactics from amateurs who clearly don’t even know debt collection laws
I called Assured directly — no answer. Sounds like either they’re fake or in on the scam. These losers inflate balances, falsify dates, and rely on fear to get desperate people to pay up. I dare them to take me to court — they know they wouldn’t win. What a joke.
If they contact you, don’t give them a dime. Demand proof. Do your research. These clowns need a new hustle, because they suck at this one.

- File Complaint W/FTC1. Why this smells like a phantom debt scam
The behavior you described—spoofed/rotating caller IDs, urgent claims that “sealed court documents” are en route, threats of lawsuits/wage garnishment/property liens on an old (time-barred) debt, and name-dropping a legitimate-sounding third party to gain credibility—tracks common red flags the CFPB and FTC warn consumers about in debt-collection scams.

Collectors must provide basic “validation” info (name of the collector, creditor, amount, and how to dispute) during the initial contact or in writing within five days; refusal or evasion is a warning sign.

3. Immediate action steps for you
1. Do not pay or share personal/financial data until the debt is validated. Demand a written validation notice identifying the debt, original creditor, amount, and proof the collector has authority to collect. Send your request in writing (certified mail, return receipt).
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
California DOJ
2. Require licensing details. In California, consumer debt collectors must be licensed by the Department of Financial Protection & Innovation (DFPI) under the Debt Collection Licensing Act and must provide or display their CA debt collector license number when requested and in written/digital communications. If they won’t provide it, that’s a major red flag—report it.

3. Log every contact. Capture date/time, incoming number, caller name/alias, what was said (especially threats), and save voicemails/screenshots. Thorough documentation strengthens complaints and potential claims. (Good practice; see enforcement matters where detailed consumer logs helped halt phantom collectors.)

4. Challenge any threats of garnishment or liens. In California, a collector can’t garnish wages or pursue similar remedies without first suing, obtaining a judgment, and following proper legal process (limited exceptions like certain federal debts). Misrepresenting that authority is unlawful.

Warning: Possible Phantom Debt Scam Using “Central Financial Management” Name & Claiming Affiliation with Assured Financial Partners
Got multiple calls from rotating local numbers telling me to call “Central Financial Management” (877-519-0982; also heard 877-662-0695, 888-592-6579, 888-485-9312). Caller claimed a “client” called Assured Financial Partners was suing me and had a locator trying to serve “sealed documents.” I have exterior cameras—no attempts were made. They also threatened wage garnishment and property liens on a debt that’s past the statute of limitations. When I pushed for written proof and licensing info, they stalled. Classic phantom-debt scare tactics—don’t pay a dime without written validation and proof they’re licensed. Verify any real debt directly with the named creditor. Report these calls to regulators.

5. Formal complaint narrative (fact-driven; paste into BBB/CFPB/AG/DFPI forms)
Subject: Suspected phantom debt collection & impersonation—Central Financial Management invoking Assured Financial Partners.
Summary of Events: Beginning on/around [insert date], I received repeated calls from various local-looking numbers directing me to contact “Central Financial Management.” Callback numbers provided included 877-519-0982, 877-662-0695, 888-592-6579, and 888-485-9312. Callers stated that a “client” named Assured Financial Partners was suing me on an old loan and that a “locator” had attempted personal service of “sealed legal documents.” I maintain exterior video surveillance; no service attempts occurred. The callers further stated that wage garnishment and property liens would proceed regardless of service.
Validation & Licensing: I requested written validation of the debt, the name of the original creditor, amount owed, and proof of the caller’s authority/licensure. To date I have received no written validation notice (required within 5 days of initial contact) and no California debt collector license number. Under CA’s Debt Collection Licensing Act, collectors must be licensed and provide their license number when requested.
