That's just the newest fake # being used for the "Process server" scam telling you they've been unable to deliver certified mail so someone's showing up between 12-3 tomorrow. But you can talk to a "mediator" at that number to resolve it now.

Pure scam

Claimed to try to deliver documents the next day for a civil suit from account holder. Ask to verify last four of SS number, and ask for full DOB.

The fake process server/location finder extortion SCAM usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency. They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer). They threaten to serve you at home or at work. They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work. They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID. None of which is true. Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them. Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else. They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”. Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time. Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter, email, or text (postmarked in the case of a letter) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. Unless they have communicated it to you verbally at the beginning of your conversation. It also must contain the “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this communication must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified. If and when you get that communication you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

They called my friend doing/saying exactly what everybody here is saying.SCAMMERS!

They called my friend telling her they were coming to her house and all this crap like what was described n the other comments.we called them back and they hung up everytime(3x).They’re clearly as described,SCAMMERS!I think they called off the last 4 of her social though which freaked her out.

This place called then when I called back to see what this was concerning the man was like are u such n such and I said no and he was like wrong number and hung up on me..But yes they left me a message with my full name and my last 4 digits of social security number saying he would be by my place between 12 and 3 and I needed 2 forms of identification pretty much exactly what everyone is saying the scammers are saying..I understand it's a scam but what I want to know is how the heck they got my social security number..??? These people need to be stopped asap..!

So I got a call from this Jeffery person literally the same day as everyone else. I didn't think to google the call back number as I knew this was a scam.

I've lived in several cities but one in particular a couple of people did drop by unannounced and "served" me papers but didn't ask for ID but my parents answered the door so they had to tell them the truth.

It might have been legit I dunno but there was no case number in the document and I always assumed there had to be a case number if it was legit.

Oh and I don't think people can just deliver "SEALED" documents to anyone.

I'm not surprised so many people got the SAME call the same day.

i got a call from someone name jeffery saying he would be at my house between 12-3 for me to sign papers about a civil suit file against me from taking out a loan in 2015, i have never in my life taken out a loan for anything. He told me to have two forms of ID. Anybody knows if you are being served the process server never ask for ID, because they know exactly who you are when they come to you. THIS IS A SCAM!!!

Caller called, identified himself as Jeffery.  how you doing today, this is Jeffrey on the private courier for area giving you a call here today in regards to seal documents that require your signature because _⁠_⁠_⁠_ through USPS has healed and no results for the filing party so they hired me to hand deliver the documents that they have a _⁠_⁠_⁠_ _⁠_ with no response I am scheduled to be to your house tomorrow between 12 noon and 3 PM so please be ready have two forms of ID as well as a witness to sign off on these documents if you are not home I will be making more unannounced visits just so you're aware and this is just a courtesy call so please try to be available if you're not home or I have an old or wrong address then I will be mark in this as a missed appearance so if you would like to reschedule then you may contact the file and party at the number provided in this message if you do not need to reschedule then I thank you for your time and I will see you tomorrow have a great day you may contact the mediator is phone number 844-734-2090 when calling please provide your reference number 1621065–6492 you may press any button to repeat this message…”

received call from 888-974-3416 stating a process server would serve me at my home address tomorrow between 12 -3 from a suit in which I am named.  He did provide my name in recording but no other info.  Asked that I call 844-734-2090 ref#1781629-**** which is last 4 of ss.  I called and they promptly hung up 2x.  Such BS!!! I blocked both numbers from my phone.

I got a call warning me of not appearing for my signature, the man warned me of making another appearance at my house again. When I called a lady picked up and stated I owed money for a credit card when I was 19... never had one. When I tried to tell her it wasn't me she stated that I have to pay it regardless. When I told her I am not paying she hung up on me. I called back demanding a manager and they transferred v/m and I disputed the charge and told them to never call again.
