got a letter from this company for a utility bill

They called my sister, told her I owed a debt and they are going to serve papers. I have no debt. Tried calling only to be put on hold. I smell a rat!

A person calling from 903-483-1567 is asking me if I know Scott (he's my husband) and that a complaint has been filed against him. I need to tell him to call 844-734-9631 and reference a file number.

This number started calling me in the summer, telling me to tell my autistic brother to call them cause they're trying to serve him papers but would not tell me what they are cause "it's unlawful" to open the documents. Told them to shove it cause my brother doesn't know how to tell time let alone set up any type of account.
Fast forward to a few months ago, I got 2 calls in one day regarding my sister! I told them both times that she's not at my number and to stop calling. 2nd phone call was a little more harsh. *oops lol* Tonight, they called tonight, asking for my sister again. I asked if they are a debt collector, they said no and to give my sister this number and file number. Once again, told them if they contacted me again I'd be reporting them to the BBB. I blocked the number when they called me twice in one day. My guess is they're a debt collector, but they wouldn't say.

8447349631 has made several calls to me wanting to collect on a US cellular bill. Ive never had US cell for my phone. Wanted my debit card number wanted to set up a payment plan. I called US cell and they have no record of even my name. And why would they Ive never used them. This is a fraud number dont give them none of your info.

You are correct-I can tell you from personal experience that US Cellular DOES NOT CALL to collect on a bill. Plus, that number doesn't even EXIST-it's been spoofed

I had the same call. I called and reported it to the local sheriff and went online and reported it to the FBI.

No, absolutely not. It's what is referred tom as zombie debt and you should not admit to it or even have any contact with that collector. Check your state for statue of limitations on debt collection. In California it's 4 years, stays on your credit report for 7 years but they can only collect during the first 4. If you contact them they can reset the debt. Turn them into your states attorney general and the FBI online reporting service.

Got a call saying they were a 3rd party agency called GDI and they were calling on behalf of my aunt to reach her because they are trying to serve her papers regarding a complaint that had been filed. Seems like a scam. They could not disclose how they got my information or what the complaint was in regards to.

If you call that number they ID themselves as Lexington Trust Services.  (LTS).

( Limonite Avenue is a focal point of a lot of debt scamming operations located in Riverside County California.)

If they call you, absolutely do NOT give them any information and ignore and block their calls.  They will use different CIDs. But they will ID themselves as "Lexington Trust Services" if you call that number.  They are most certainly NOT a trust services company.  They are plain old debt collectors using scammy methods to collect on questionably or non-existent debts.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.
