This is a call back number

I got a message in the mail asking me to call this number to claim my reward for $100 in gas rebates.

I also got a letter in the mail asking me to call the number for "$100.00 in Gas rebates at Esso, Shell, Petro-Canada, and more".

Got the same thing, $100 in free gas, but I'm suspicious as I recently seem to have scams coming at me every day. Has anyone called the number?

There is no such thing as a free lunch (or gas).  This is a misleading promotion to con you into joining a buying club or purchase multiyear magazine subscriptions or something else. Rest assured, unless you spend money in some way, often by being tricked into a multiyear contract with no cancellation option or a very high early termination fee, you will not receive the "free" gas card or whatever other promotional "gift" is being offered.

My message said "we are trying to reach you for your unclaimed reward!. You have been selected to receive $ 100.00 in gas rebates valid at Esso, Shell, Petro Canada and more....1 844 750 1927.    Mon to Fri 10 am to 8 pm EST claim # HLL318578"

I called and got a busy signal...

And it did what it was suppose to do - you called & confirmed your number as live, and think you've won a prize. It's a good idea to check these things out on line first, and not to call strange phone numbers. You cannot win a contest you never entered. You cannot win a lottery you never bought a ticket on.

We just received the card in the mail today - Sept 2014 in London, Ontario.
The phone # was different, but the info on the card was the same...

I got the same card 1-844-750-1927. Called number but only got busy signal. Strange...so many people in different provinces got the same card. I'm in Alberta.

Got the same card as the rest of you in the mail today.  I live in New Brunswick.  I was actually home when they called and told me all I had to do was give them my credit card number.  Told them thanks but no thanks, I don't give my card number out to people I don't know.

Got a yellow card in the mail telling me that I have been selected to received $100 in Gas rebates at Shell, Esso, Petro Canada, etc. Call 1-844-750-1927.

I googled "yellow card gas rebate" and a few people were saying that they are a scam and want your credit card number in order to buy things or pay a shipping/process fee first.
Do NOT call and do NOT ever give credit card info over the phone to a random company.

If you actually won something you will be contacted by a legit company, asked to sign a waiver or something like that, and you will never have to pay upfront for a real prize.
