I am reporting this computer scam and hacker. Please do not answer and make a deal. I had a terrible experienced.

Can you tell me more about what happened? I think I might have been scammed by this company too.

Another site reports this number as a Indian or Pakistan grant scam number.   Also listed as a computer repair number on a few sites.  Scammery - Scummery number.  Be careful!

This is a scam.  They got my retired school teacher father to give them his money, bank number, routing number. My wife and I caught it and he's on the way to the bank to change all his information.  I'd like to get my hands on these creeps.

They are scammers..,They sent a pop up to my computer with a warning sign that I must've call them to gain access back to my computer..I called them and gave them access to my computer and paid $205 with a checking acc#.,,Now am concern, although I've cancel my bank acc and too precautions, I don't know how much information they've got about me

Beware this a scam please don't not pay them money. There are from overseas if u get a pop on plug everything and restart your computer. Look up computer scam calls and u see how many people been scammed and warn others about this scam and people need to report his stuff.

Installed Virus on computer, then charged hundreds to remove it!!  Definitely a SCAM !!

My elderly Hanover NH friend also got scammed for $299.99 by Iconic Limo LLC - who claimed to "fix" her computer after hacking into it.  We have filed a police report and are in the process of recovering money.  These guys are hacking into computers and then advertising directly to hacked victim for a fix it program.  Total scam... beware.

Hi,I also got a call from the number mentioned above,They fixed my 3 computers including a laptop and charged me $1500 for that.But actually they fixed it perfectly fine and downloaded Anti Virus too.And if i ever have problems with my Computer or Laptop I call them and they give assistance to me with no further charge,I have no idea why you guys have had bad experience with them,

You were scammed! HOW would they know you were having problems with your computers?
If you paid them using a credit or debit card, cancel it IMMEDIATELY! They will take way more than the $1500 you think you paid them.

Their web site has been up a whopping 5 months.  The address in Maryland that their web site claims they are at is a corner convenience store.  The Address used by Tech Genie in New Jersey is a residence, and then I found a reference to Vmak Support.  Both companies by the name of Elision, LLC are dissolved which means they cannot operate legally under that name.  Elision, LLC web site was obviously written by either someone who has a rudimentary grasp of English as a second language or some with a grad school education, probably equivalent to our 2nd grade.

How do we know you are a liar?

I recieved a pop up that locked my computer and started blaring "your computer has been hacked, do not attempt to shut down or you will be locked out of the system, call the tool free number immediately !" So, being the computer illiterate idiot that I am, I called them. They got me to pay 249.99 and had control of my computer all day. They went by the name of VMAK RESEARCH AND SERVICES LLC AND ELISION LLC. After the fact, I did a little research and realized it was a scam ! I immediately put a stop payment on the check and canceled my debit card. My question is;  do they now have key stroke copying capabilities or other viruses in my computer ? Please give advice...

Since the scammers accessed the computer, they probably did one or more of the following:
• Disabled the anti-virus software
• Added nasty malware to the computer
• Copied the Contact List (so they can spam/email your soon-to-be ex-friends)
• Copied any financial data or passwords they could find
• Compromised your ID on Facebook or other social site(s), and perhaps on shopping sites.
• "Zombied" the computer, so it would respond to THEIR commands sent via internet
• Deleted some important files
• Asked for money to repair the damage they caused

What can you do immediately after such an attack?
1.  Pull the cables on the computer, or otherwise disable it, so it cannot access the internet.
2.  Change ALL  passwords stored on the computer.
3.  Run FULL malware scans on the computer, in "SAFE" mode!
4.  Change the passwords again, particularly if the malware scans showed anything.
5.  Inform your bank and credit card companies.
6.  Sign up for credit monitoring, and check the status frequently
7.  Backup non-executable personal, data files to an external storage device.  (Executable files might be infected).
8.  You may have to bring the computer to a local repair shop, and tell them the story.
9.  Tell friends what happened, so they can be aware of strange emails from you.
10.  Connect to the internet only AFTER all the above have been done.
11.  Change the passwords on all online accounts.  Even better - access a "safe", uninfected  computer, and change your online account passwords RIGHT NOW.

NOTE:
If your computer set a "Restore Point" while it was infected, any "System Restore" you make will re-infect your computer.  Suggest you delete any potentially infected restore points and avoid setting such restore points until after your computer has been thoroughly cleaned!

Honest computer companies do NOT cold-call people, or cause popups from websites to tell them their computers need fixing!

Some scammers even have websites, and falsely advertise they are associated with popular software packages or computer companies; so do NOT believe a "we will fix your computer remotely" site, and allow them access to your computer!
