While on Facebook, my computer was suddenly frozen and a verbal message came on, supposedly from Microsoft, telling me I had a virus and windows would not work until I called this number to have it removed. This is a scam so don't fall for it. I saw a couple of other people on a different site who had the same thing happen to them except their notifications were different from mine. I had to exit the app using task manager. My computer was frozen for almost 4 hours, then when I tried my browser after that time, it worked. Again, SCAM number!

I too had this virus-related message while on Facebook.  It happened a few times and I shut down, but not the correct way as there was no way any of the usual methods would allow me to close.  Hours later my computer is up and running normally.  Thought this was a scam as I have had similar experiences from another "person" and suspected that too was a scam.  I don't trust anything anymore.

It happens to me ALL the time and all I do I unplug the computer and remove the battery for about 10 seconds and put it back on and it works all the time. This fl.......g thing happens at least once a day and I don't know how not only to stop but have the authorities do something about it, it's criminal. I want to call them and give some idea of what I think about them but then who knows what hey are going to do with my phone.

I clicked to open Facebook when an error message appeared and blocked my computer.
saying it was from Microsoft, it gave a number to call to Microsoft tech support to resolve problem. the "tech" checked my computer and said I had a number of Trojans that needed to be removed. he quoted a price of $350.00 p[us more for technician. this was just for one year.  IT IS A SCAM! LUCKILY, I DID NOT PAY AND INSTEAD SHUT DOWN MY COMP. AND STOPPED MY INTERNET CONNECTION. DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER ! IT IS A SCAM, I HOPE I HAVE NOT SUFFERED ANY DAMAGE.

I clicked to open Facebook as well and the page froze and an error message popped up saying my access to the internet has been blocked saying it was from Microsoft. Then it gave me this number to call. I let a tech have access to my pc and the tech said that I was infected with a virus he told me that my windows was in the process of crashing and actually tried to show me a pop up . I realized it was a SCAM when he asked me to go to Walmart and purchase 2 Prepaid visa cards as payment.  That was a huge red flag for me and I stopped my internet connection.  I later discovered that this so called tech looked through my email account and as well as other personal info. I made sure I changed all my personal passwords and financial information. I also called Microsoft immediately and had a tech check it out and he said that I never had a virus and cleaned my PC and deleted any suspicious programs that they may have been installed and gave me some useful tips to help protect myself against scammers. Microsoft will never ever call you and will not send you a online error message asking you to call them.  If you believe that you let a scammer in to your PC  do the following:
!. Switch off your internet connection right away.
    2.Shutdown the router
    3.Restart your system

My elderly father of 85 just got a message that he was distributing porn and he had to call 844-786-8922.  Luckily he knew enough to call me, his daughter, and I told him it's a SCAM.  Had he not had anyone to call he may have done what they said.  HORRIBLE!!!!!!

Had this pop up when I was on FB.  The way to unfreeze is to clikc on cancel and then press ALT+F4 which is the keyboard shortcut for closing a program.

DEFINITELY SCAM!!!!  The trick, most of the time, is BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT "ARTICLES" YOU CLICK ON.  THAT'S WHERE THE MALWARE IS LOCATED!!!  AND THERE ARE MANY ON FACEBOOK.  NEVER CALL THAT #.  I had to turn off my computer twice and then ran a security scan.  That had stopped it. Then my internet would work.  It's getting so you should not click on anything anymore.
