A message was left by UPMC Pharmacy asking me to call them back.  The young lady's name was "Casey"  I called back and got an automated answering system, first telling me my call would be 'recorded' and then asking me to enter my insurance ID #.  I did not have it handy.  I was just being polite and returning THEIR call.  I was then placed on hold for several minutes listening to the UPMC theme music, which gets kind of irritating after awhile.  I decided the call couldn't have been that important and ended the call, still listening to that music....

I talked to my UPMC membership hotline contact and she said this is actually a UPMC Pharmacy call to ask about your prescriptions...so far I called the number but did not enter any information...I will call back during work hours...

I returned this call and a very pleasant young lady asked me about my prescriptions, prescription quantity best for me, how I remembered to take my meds, etc. I take blood pressure meds.  Conversation was pleasant and not intrusive in any way

Read previous e mail first.  Not callkng back.  Was sure was fake.  Some guy named Tim.  Sounds very professional.  I'm smarter.

similar experience. sure doesn't sound like UPMC people to me.

Message from upmc pharmacy I called back and was asked if I was over 50 I said yes and was transferred to lifeline. So they said and that I was eligible for a free system I would only have to pay monthly monitoring fees and wanted my bank information. Told her no. She was very persistent and would not take no for an answer. I hung up.

Most likely you misdialed the number.

Is this UPMC calling, if so why does it come up on phone as UPNCHLTH...will not answer phone. So no need to call back with this number.

If you really want to know "Is this UPMC calling", call them at a known phone number and ask them if they called you.

I believe it's a way to 'legally' bill Medicare for things you would normally discuss with your family doctor and/or other specialists, not a pharmacist who doesn't know you from Adam.

They are persistent and annoying.  I will not answer. I don't and wont discuss my meds which are prescribed by my doctors.

Same here, a pharmacy calling me friend ,ended the conversation for me .
