They call my number my daughters cell phone and it is all a scam claiming to have a civil suit. They are just trying to get information to scam out of money

They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.

Michael Turner with PRG & Associates called from 716-748-8069 and left a voicemail stating that I should call him back at 844-804-0403 concerning an old debt--"to avoid going to court". I recently relicated halfway across the country under less than optimal circumstances, and I am aware that I have some outatanding debts in my previous state of residence, so I called Mr Turner back.

Mr Turner said that he was representing a firm that I do, indeed, owe. However, aside from my name and birthdate, his information was ALL incorrect. He told me that a "preliminary hearing" was set ina CIVIL case and I should pay him now to avoid going to court. I questioned him as to why court would be set halfway across the country from the firm that I owe. He indicated that I had written a post-dated check and when I told him that was untrue, his response was to ask me for the name of my employer. At this point I was finished with him. I told him that with all the scamming going on nowadays, based on the fact that 95% of his information was incorrect, I was not going to do this with him. Apparently my insight into his motives angered him, because he immediately began with the name-calling. I have heard NOTHING since that day. Of course why call someone back who already has your number!! BEWARE!!!

They just called me and said I had a debt that I refused to pay (mind you, they've called me nonstop for 4 months, all with different stories and threats) and said they were filing a civil suit against me. I told my husband and he called them, spoke to a man that immediately got irate when he asked for information and said we both had 'cavalier' attitudes and said if we didn't make a payment he was gonna hang up, which he did. My husband called back several more times and the man just kept hanging up on him. We finally got ahold of a manager and told her what happened, and she apologized saying it was all unacceptable behavior from her staff and that they don't file suits against you, so the initial woman that called me had illegally harassed and lied to me. And they lie about the company name and their own names when asked. Be careful and know your rights
