- Caller: Dective Ross
- Call type: Debt collector
- Crystal| 1 replyDo not take these people serious. This number and company is a scam. I was accused of writing bad checks and was told I was being arrested if i did not pay over $1000 that day over the phone.

- NotFooledcalled saying a person had been writing bad checks (had wrong name for my phone number) - used my county name to try to sound convincing. Total scam.

- This is a NEW LOW| 1 replyMale caller identified himself as Officer Miller on my home voicemail...said he had completed his review of the documents involved in a Pretrial Case for charges filed against me for fraudulent check writing in my county. He provided the pretrial Docket # and said I had 24 hours to respond by calling this phone number 844-804-6076 and that I should have no trouble returning this call from anywhere since it's an easily accessed toll-free number. He ended the msg by saying I should consider myself "notified".

These people should be prosecuted to the furthest extent of the law!! If this scam works on only one person who is scared or intimidated by this firm-sounding, deep-voiced man who tells you that unless YOU PAY off these charges over the phone, right now, today...that you'll be prosecuted and fined and possibly sent to jail (since you're not able to prove you did NOT write said bad checks). I could see an elderly person or even a younger or naive 20-something potentially falling victim to this smooth talking criminal!!!
A message for these criminals: GET OUT AND GET YOURSELF A REAL DAMN JOB AND EARN AN HONEST LIVING INSTEAD OF PREYING ON INNOCENT PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED HARD FOR THEIR MONEY. YOU DESERVE NO MERCY AND SHOULD BE PUBLICALLY HUMILIATED AND FORCED TO SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE IN PURE PUBLIC SERVICE. YOU ARE NOTHING IF NOT A BUNCH OF PARASITES OR COCKROACHES SUCKING OFF SOCIETAL MANNERS AND GOOD GRACE. HOW ARE YOU SLEEPING? GOD SEES YOU.- Caller: Officer Miller (Phone Predator)

- Today replies to This is a NEW LOWI just got the same phone call 844–8 04–6076 he said almost the same identical thing to me on my voice mail. Said his name was investigator Jensen about bad check! I don't do that stuff your bank notifies you if you are in overdraft!
- CWG40This "Jensen" persona appears on other numbers on 800notes making the same sort of calls.
Basically a group of extortionists who call others up and accuse them of check fraud. They threaten arrest and use old courthouse fax numbers as spoofed numbers. They pretend to be somehow connected to law enforcement.
Call themselves “investigators”. They demand immediate payment and threaten arrest.
Seriously bad actors. Ignore and block their calls. No idea where they are located.
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking), the only thing they understand.
Also, if they claim to be members of law enforcement, make sure you make a complaint to your own local law enforcement. This would be in addition to an extortion complaint.

- Mr Smith replies to Paula BodnarThere's a BIG difference between someone saying "I'm investigator Smith", versus someone saying "I'm detective Smith", or saying "I'm attorney John Smith". One is a REAL law enforcement officer with a real badge# that you can verify by calling the department or law enforcement agency. An attorney is the same way, certified by whatever state's BAR association they practice in. And you can contact the BAR to determine whether an attorney is legit or not, if you can't get confirmation, contact your local law enforcement for assistance. And actually, that's what I recommend right off the bat. If some scammer refers to themselves as "investigator (insert bogus name here)", ask them what court or law enforcement agency they represent. Tell them you'll call them back. Then CALL the court or law enforcement agency, tell them who is trying to call you about an alleged debt, and confirm whether that person is actually employed by that particular court or law enforcement agency. I could EASILY say I am Investigator Smith, walk around wearing a suit, sporting an intimidating personality and demeanor in person or over the phone. Don't be scammed. I am helping someone deal these very same people right now, I can't give you my real name, but I am under the impression that these are nothing but slightly sophisticated crooks using high pressure intimidation tactics to make you cough up your money. If it turns out they are crooks, and I seriously think they are, what they've done is either illegally purchase compromised personal information online through black market means or are part of a criminal ring that has hacked financial institutions or check cashing or high rate loan companies, and they are using the info they have about you and your past to get you to cough up dough. Again, MAKE them fess up and tell you who they say they work for. Check with that court, agency, or government entity, tell them what's happening and why you're calling, and ask if an investigator X actually works there.
- H.R.These people called me today saying I owed a 510 payment at first and if it go to court it will be 3000 wtf. I know I have paid off all my old creditor's. N I have proof that I did they call my cell, house, and mother phone in abother state. This should be against the law to do this I'm reporting then today. Thanks for yall above on the matter. And new people to this please be aware.

- Cherish| 1 replyThis # almost scammed me out of $1600! They tapped into the courthouse line and left me a voicemail from the "courthouse" but wanted me to return the call at this #. I believed I was in trouble. The lady said she was an investigator. SCAM!!!

- VANESSA replies to CrystalGot a call today with the last four being 6073 and telling my ex husband i would be arrested for check fraud if i didnt respond to them in the next 24 hrs.. They serve you papers please
- BigA replies to CherishIt is called "Caller ID Spoofing". They can do it cheaply and don't need to "tap" into a line. If they wanted you to think you were getting a call from the White House they could set the system up that way. Notify your local courthouse that they are doing that, and use these links to report them as well:
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices: https://800notes.com/faq/attorney-general - NicholeI received a phone call from these petty fools and when I would not fall for their nonsense and kept telling them I had no money, the man I was speaking with asked if I would give him a [***] to pay bill bill off in full. I played stupid with this man just to catch him up in the lie so when he suggested that I told him I would be contacting the police and telling them everything. I hope others read this so they don't fall prey to these criminals.
