They called and stated my name and the last four of my ssn. Then they told me I had a Payday loan that I owed from 2017, they couldn't give me the name of the payday place or where they were located. They said they sent paperwork several days ago that I have never received. So they said they would send it again. We will see as I believe this is a scam.

Caller stated that I had 3 payday loans from Wilmington Delaware, I live in Ohio and have never taken out payday loans in my life. They had my last four digits of my social, my daughter's name, and my email address.

They called and said I had a payday loan from 2013 had my son's name. But did not tell me who the payday loan was through. They wanted me to make arrangement to pay load or get paperwork to go to court. They said they would hold for a few days for me to think things over.

It is doubtful they will take you to court on a 9 year old debt even on the off chance you did take out a payday loan in 2013 and didn't pay it back.  But if that was the case you would have received lots of communication from the original lender long before it went to a collection company. Only a few states have a statute of limitations to sue for debt that is longer than 9 years.
