Received a letter from JP Associates, now receiving phone calls

Financial Office? Received a phone call about my son.

Received a call saying I was going to be servered  papers For a law suite against me.  I had 1 hour to respond to this number 844-809-0052. When I locke the number up the number wasn't  located in the united State.

Called for my bf on a number they shouldn't have in the first place. Wouldn't say what it was about or who they were, but the witch had an attitude and said they'd tried to reach my bf before and we're going to try to go his job and they would just go to court without him present.
What ever witch.
Got the message to him and he called back but no one answered. left a message saying try it and hung up.

My husband just got a call from this JP and that women was a [***] tell my husband that he had a cell phone bill since 2003 he told her he did not have a cell phone in 2003 she said that he should had papers sent to him in 2003 in Bedford pa at a address he never lived at so he asked her some info about her but she would not give any info so he said that he was not giving her any info about him but she said that they will take him to court and he will have to pay it all the court fees and that they will put a hold on anything we own and they will take up to 18% of his money  and then she said you could give me our credit card and we could take money out of it every month he said no way I am not giving you any credit card

My secretary received two calls for me today?

This is a Scamming Collection Agency.  They call trying to collect debts that are "Time-barred" under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA),  http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection  or because they are debts that cannot be proven.  ALWAYS remember that these companies that wont give you information about themselves are scammers.  They pay pennies on the dollar for these uncollectable debts and use scare tactics to try and collect them.  DON"T SEND THEM A DIME!!   Once you make any type of payment on an old uncollectable debt it resets the clock on that account and makes it collectable again.  NEVER GIVE THEM ANY BANKING OR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!  This company "JP Associates" called me with some BS debt from almost 20 years ago.  I know I never owed Sprint any money yet the lady tried to tell me that I would have to prove the account wasn't mine.  I told her if she sends me the origional account information and can prove that the account was mine and I owe the debt I would pay it then.  She said she didn't have to do that and that I would have to go to court.  I said "OK see you in court"  Again it is the companies responsibility to PROVE that it was your account.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PROVE THAT IT WASN"T.   If they do not have the actual account documents with your signature and/or if it is "Time-barred".  http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0117-time-barred-debts.  Best thing to do is research your rights and know them when these people call.  If they figure out you know the law they usually will leave you alone.  You can sue them and you can record the call as long as you tell them you will be recording it.  99% of the time once you say that you are recording the call they will hangup or try to convince you that you can't record the conversation.  

I was called for a similar situation yesterday, but it was for a T-Mobile account I had 3 years ago. I just got off the phone with them and they said If I pay this they will remove this from my credit report, I do know this account is on there. They are willing to reduce it for 25% off the amount shown on my credit report. They have all my personal information and told me exactly where it was on my credit report.

Collection letter after letter for the last year from this company.

I just paid the stupid little bill, I also sent a copy of release of liability form they gave me to the credit report companies. jJust incase they don't, even though they said they would

I called them because their phone number was listed on my credit report for an old Capital One credit card I had, waiting for them to send me validation of debt. The man I spoke with was very stern/arrogant and said he could not take any interest off the balance, either I pay it or it they will continue to report on my credit for 4 more years.

The legal firm I hired to fix my credit called JP Associates and they offered him a 50% reduction, not a penny more they said.

Received a letter from JP Associates, called them, spoke with a Harold Crawford, he didn't care that I wasn't working and am a single father of 2, no type of sympathy was shown for my particular situation. No help!

Got a call from 844-809-0052 claiming my husband has a legal claim against him and that she had a summons to serve him and that if he wasn't available then she would hold the papers for now but he needed to reach their office immediately or else she would serve him at home or his job. Then I google this number and come across all of this , that they're scammers.

Called saying they had been trying to serve my husband court paper work for a t-mobile account from 2005 and that he had an hour to call this # back. When we called this the first time they did answer and said they were filling 3 felony offences against him (all dumb stuff, that aren't felony's, like contract fraud related to nonpayment of t-mobile).  I told them they this bill was paid in 2007 and that it had been removed from my husband credit then.  They did have his social.  They gave me a email to send my supporting documents to (which I had since my husband had been a victim of family credit fraud at the time )  I had a payment confirmation # and the company we had paid, as well as a note from experian where it had been deleted.  They said they would email back something confirming it was taken care off.  I also put in the email with the documentations that at this time they were over the statue of limitations for our state on this debt even if it had not been paid.  I have never heard back, its been weeks. Tried emailing again, no response.  Tried calling tons of times different days and hours and have never got an answer since the very first time.
