Left a message saying it was the Census Bureau.

Another “census bureau.”  But it was at 9:45 pm.

This is a scammer.  Never before have I ever gotten a call after filling out a census.  They want info that is private.  Hang up on them!!

The number may be on their website but that doesn't mean all calls from it are from the census bureau.Scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time.

Then why are you here? You already know who called you. Do you often look up known phone numbers?

left a message saying it was census and a automated voicemail with a new case id. They called me twice.

Called yesterday and left message claiming to be from the US Census. Now do they really call?   Might be a scammer.   I will not answer.  I took care it by mail, that’s why I don’t think is a legitimate call.

It's a legitimate phone number (towards the bottom of their website: https://2020census.gov/en/ways-to-respond/responding-by-phone.html), for the United States Census Bureau.

They probably either have an additional question to confirm with you or it's a follow-up random Survey that they conduct with some people.

Just because it's a legitimate phone number doesn't mean all calls from it are legitimate. Or have you never heard of phone number spoofing? Why are you even here? You already know to whom this number belongs.

Had 2 phone calls from this number. One a man, another a lady. One call was late in the evening.  They left a message with a refernce number. I did the census on time and online. They should have the info they need.

Calls repeatedly daily for past few weeks.  Never left vm till today- automated voice thanked me for calling census bureau (they called me). I completed census online in March. Called number back today and said I had already completed census. Was told they had more questions and needed census ID number lft in vm. No ID number lft in vm. Lady stated they must have not had enough time to leave stated as much, then started asking me for personal information to pull up my information.  nope! SKETCHY
