- SaraOur company keeps getting these calls
- Annoyed| 4 repliesWoman refused to verify my debt. She simply told me that I would be getting a court summons. She was rude and would talk over me when I attempted to ask questions (none of which she would answer). Attempting to collect on a very old debt that I am unsure of. I had to call back to get the company name and she mumbled it, so I'm not completely sure if the name is correctly. EXTREMELY shady.

- Is this Legal?| 11 repliesI received a call this morning from a phone w/ no caller ID. The caller left a v-mail stating his name is Conner Wilson an investigator for Legal Services and looking for the following person (stated my full name and the last four digits of my SSN to identify the person he was looking for). He continued to say that he is calling to investigate a “Civil Complaint” filed against me for “possible fraud” and requested a returned phone call so I may give a statement of defense
(references a call back phone #844-809-8786 & case #). If no call is returned further action will be taken without my knowledge or input to decide the outcome of my case. He also stated that have been officially notified in accordance with State & Federal Law.
Is this legal? Can a collector give personal information such as SSN w/out confirming if they are truly speaking to that person on the other line? How is this in accordance with “State & Federal Law”, please advise?- Caller: Legal Services

- Unknown| 6 repliesI received a voicemail from this company stating I refused to respond to previous correspondence and a court summons was going to be served. So i returned the call with my "case #" and a Lee Scott automatically answered stating information about a check cashing. He had my previous address and even the bank I use to bank with. He explained he was an arbitration service and was handling my case which was from 2011. He went on to say I either had to give a statement or pay up front. So i asked for proof, (if i was going to agree to pay something I wanted physical proof) he refused saying that No he would not provide me anything not even a charge statement... so he immediately turned defensive then i asked to speak with someone else and simply said "NO" because he is the case handler and is the "man in charge" (but how if I was never transferred, he was the first person to take my call). So i said well how am i to give a statement if i have no information... basically he said ok well you will be served in 3-4 business days and hung up!? Scam?!??So annoyed!! PS the caller ID gave me a Virginia number but i returned the call at 844-809-8786.

- Makes me mad| 2 repliesI just got this Voicemail stating my husband refused to respond to previous correspondence, and they are moving forward with the lawsuit against us. WHAT LAWSUIT?? If we do not call back today they will assume we are waiving our legal rights and on and on. This crap gets old, it happened to us before Christmas time as well.. My inlaws have had it happen to them also.

- tallulah replies to Makes me mad| 1 replyIf it has happened before then your info is being sold for these scams. They tend to call in cycles, and near holidays. Dont ever tell them anything. Ask questions . I always wanted to call them back and say I am callling to serve them a civil complaint for harassing communications...wonder how that conversation would evolve.

- JessicaI've been getting calls from them for at least 2 months. The issue here is that the messages are for an Ella Chavez. The messages said that "I" was being served for check fraud too. I told them before that they had the wrong number. One person even asked if I was sure that my name wasn't Ella Chavez. Anyway, they just called again (using 804-809-8786...which according to reverse phone search, isn't an actual number) and gave the other number for call back. I called to tell them that they had the wrong number. She asked for the number, typed it in and then said the number was linked to Ella Chavez. When I told her that I was not Ella Chavez and didn't know who that person was. She said that she would erase the number from her database, but she said that other companies may call. Something about how this was handled is just...wrong. By the way, you can't be served via the phone. It has to be in person, if that isn't possible then the company would have to show that they tried every possible way to serve the papers in person. So, I almost guarantee that this is a scam.

- SteveI was called twice within a few minutes of each other with a recorded message telling me that a civil complaint was made against me and a civil suit was filed and I must respond by COB today. I was then told what my case number was and that I was to reference it when calling the number. No other information was provided. They are clearly trying to elicit a return call. Based on internet research it sounds like a fraud and I am not going to waste my time calling them back.
