No it's definitely a scam. I have fallen for this scam before and I have learned to ignore them. Hang up on them.

I  got the same call as everyone else except it came from a local land line number. (309)228-6948 in Peoria Illinois

Just received a voice mail message from 717-308-9648. The message said that I am being uncooperative in making payment arrangements with Catherine Bronson (sp?).  Either my attorney or me should call back by the end of the day to avoid them going to the jurisdiction where I live.  The number to call back is 844-821-4878.  No idea what they are talking about.  I have one loan and I make the payment each month.

They called from phone number 215-516-7937.  On the voicemail I was told to call 844-821-4878 because of charges they have filed against me.  At first the system was automated then it switched to a live person that provided the callback number and my claim number if I was to call back.

Spam all the way!  Why the law enforcement doesn't do anything about these people!

Same call plus the numbed on my caller id was 502 205 9896 both numbers show up as scam. They are even calling my mother's. So sick of this . threading me with court .

Mine came from a 406-952-3108. I looked up that number and it said it was someone in Great Falls Montana (I live in Helena Mt) It scared me at first but after seeing this I will not worry.

Call from Southport, NC number 910-294-8573.Said they were M&A Solutions. Calling for a relative that does not live here.Said to contact Captain Bronson at 1-844-821-4878. Last chance before turning over to authorities. I did not return call.

After hours robo-greeter IDs them as M & A Solutions stating they are located in the Eastern Time Zone.

This "Captain Bronson" persona appears elsewhere on 800notes.

Possibly this group:

Apparently existing at one time as both an LLC and a Corporation.
Both groups dissolved.  Yet still appear to be operating.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Stealing is different than an outstanding debt, regardless of the amount. A debt means there is a contract between you, in which you agreed to pay in exchange for something.  It is a civil matter.  Stealing means taking something of value without the other person's consent, intent or agreement to repay, etc. That is criminal.  But, you are right, this is a scam.
