This is a SCAM.  Got a call amount amount due on a book rented at the college bookstore.  The amount had already been paid.

I got a call from this number about returning and paying off books that had also been paid off. SCAM

Same problem. They lost the book, I provided several emails of USPS receipt and the tackong showing deliveries. Store manager stated she cleared it several times.

He told me that I had to pay for an overdue book not 100% sure this is a scam but the more I look into it I would make them provide additional information if they call you for credit card info.

As far as I know B & N is a book seller.  What kind of book is this? Did you rent a book?  You should know if you rented a book from them. Was this a textbook?  I find it hard to believe that you would not remember that.
