I just got called from this number. It was an automated system claiming to be West Penn Power. It claimed I owed 70 some dollars, which I know isn't anywhere near accurate, so I knew I better call them. They confirmed they neither called me, did not have an automated system call me, nor is that one of their numbers. My conclusion is that this is absolutely a scam.

Robo call SCAM CALL

Received a call from this number today. I do not have West Penn for power, I have National Grid. This could completely be an automated reminder that your electric bill is due, but since I dont have West Penn, I can only assume a scammer has spoofed the number in an attempt to get something from me.

Just received a call from this number.  Although I do know my power bill is about 3 days over due, I also know that they have NEVER called my cell phone for anything.  IF they call me, it is on my house line.  SO that being said, I do believe that this a scam call.   I will call the power company when I get home and verify, but yea.  NOT falling for this one.

I just received a phone call from this number, same as above, reputing to be from west penn power. However, two things. One, I have never known west penn power to use so many different voices automated to get their message or mine name pronounced, that was my first clue. Second, they were wanting to charge a fee of $4.00 to get my bill paid, which I already paid. When they gave me options of how to pay it, when I didn't pick one, they hung up. I had already paid it after hours by phone. Too late people. Anyway, I came on here to find out who the number actually was before I called it back or called west penn power back.  Found this out. Thought so. Also, I have straight talk, so, I noticed this weekend there was an update to robocallers being blocked by all the major phone companies except prepaid phones!, I am also on the donotcall list. They have less than one week to no longer call. This is why I do not like nor actively participate in 3rd party partners for this reason. You don't know who their third party partner is.

They called me today & I owe $0, just looked at my acct yesterday. Called & when I picked up, it disconnected

This is not WPP. They just called me and I looked up my account. I actually have a credit on my bill. So definitely a scam

I received a call today from this number and for sure it’s West Penn Power! So all of these people saying it’s not and it’s a scam are DEAD WRONG!!  It’s them calling about your past due bill!!!!

It's a spam call. They called saying I owed them 680 something dollars? From a payday loan that I've never taken out in my life. They said they sent me numerous letters in the mail but I haven't received any so I called your bluff on that. Then I got really upset with me basically spitting through the phone. Don't give in it's a scam, don't pay these people some of the oldest cams in the book! Also if anything like this happens, check with the credit bureau first to see if there's any debt that you haven't paid off, I pay off all my debt my credit score is great! Please do not give in to these people! They're Crooks

This is a scam. When I searched this number, one of the very first things that came up was First Energy Corp's scams and fraud page stating the following...

"Customers who are behind on their accounts receive written notices of a possible disconnection and how to prevent it. Our representatives will not call or email to demand immediate payment to avoid a same-day shutoff."

Read more on their scams and fraud page and do not give this number your information. They would never call you for a late payment. You would get a letter.
