I received the same message, from the same phone number (800) 275-2273, which I have saved in my phone as the "official" Apple Care number.  The recorded voice also advised me to dial (844) 857-0333.  I dialed the number even though I figured it was fraud. Without identifying myself, I told the gentleman (foreign voice), that I received a call.  He asked if I was ____________  ____________ (he gave my correct name).  I told him no and he said they must have called me in error.  I then called Apple Care (800) 275-2273, to report the call.

A robo voice from this number (caller ID said "Apple Care") called my landline--yes, we still have one!--moments ago. It left a message on our answering machine. Same as comments above. So thankful for this site, where we can quickly confirm a call is from a scam artist.

Call actually came in from 800-275-2273.  An automated voicemail message asked me to call 844-857-0333 before using any of my Apple devices.

very aggressive pushy guy (i did call back like an idiot) wanted me to go to a website that allowed him access to my computer. hung up obviously

I got the same message this morning.

I got a voicemail on my apple device, but I couldn't find the missed call in my call log.  Same statements as above.

Received a  robo call from Apple care number showed up on ID 800 275 2273. Said they had detected a problem with my Apple account. asked me to not use apple devices until after I called 844 857 0333. Obviously and automated robo call. very poor voice quality.

Scam..."apple security alert"....

Recording says do not use Apple devices due to system hack.  Leaves call back number as (844) 857 0333, which is different than caller ID (800) 275-22273.

Same as all above.  Caller ID said AppleCare 800-286-2273.  Message referred me to 844-857-0333.

Correction -  800-275-2273.  Wish I could type better.

Scammers - left a recorded message (with the usual horrible grammar) about Apple devices being compromised. The message said to either press 1 or call the toll-free number 844-857-0333. NO WAY! If this number calls you, don't answer. As others have pointed out, the 800-275-2273 number is the AppleCare number, but it's been spoofed. If you are concerned about your Apple products, call Apple at the AppleCare number yourself - don't answer calls from this number!

scam call regarding Apple devices

I got a fraudulent call from "APPLECARE", 800-275-2273. They left a message about a problem with either my Apple Device or my account, so I needed to call them at 844-857-0333. I have also received calls directly from that number. Both are now blocked.

My parents got a call from “AppleCare” about the same financial information warning, and asking them to call the 844-857-0333 number
