People said I had a virus on my computer

That is impossible to tell unless they have remote access to the computer - a real NO NO!!  They also have NOTHING to do with Microsoft.

SCAMMERS, they claimed to be Microsoft but they are scammers/hackers

We got a serious message telling us that our computer had been hacked and was in the control of the hackers and was threatening the Microsoft windows server.  We were told not to shut down the computer as we were going to lose our information and that if we continued Microsoft would shut our computer down.  We called the number and to make a long story short we were scammed to the tune of $3500 by having to buy itunes to pay for the security software that we didn't have and to protect our computer as we had the most serious case that Microsoft had ever had.  David Parket even gave us a Emp IDM532IDP and had his Microsoft employee credentials that looked authentic to us and convinced us that he was real.  But we finally had enough with the phone calls and all the problems they said we had and stopped answering their calls and called the Microsoft hotline to find out that we had been scammed.
