This is a general number attached to a Student Loan Consolidation scam run by: Student Processing Center or Student Loan Processing Center, which claims to offer consolidation help with a "special offer" that requires a 699.00 closing cost broken into 3 payments of 299.00.  I fell for this scam after a medical emergency, which necessitated quick thinking about my finances.  These people were given tax info (I am an idiot): 1040 which has SSN attached, bank info which is then verified by Trans 2 Pay in Tulsa, OK (877-506-5044) which is the company that withdrew funds (233.00) from my personal bank account (now closed), but claims to have cancelled my "credit account" with their company.  NOT only phone fraud, but mail fraud and web fraud through legitimate seeming websites and accreditation sites/affiliates.  SPC has an A- rating with the Better Business Bureau. Stay away from 844 numbers!
