I had a virus on my computer and it told me to call this number when I called it is sent me to an Indian guy and he told me that he was with a website that I didn't understand what he told me because it was hard to understand and he keeps calling me back

My sister had the same thing happen to her this evening and it has everyone here in a fit. The guy gave her a number to call and ask for Kevin. Something about this doesn't seem kosher. Do you have any other info on the company if any?

same problem here. not sure how but, the India voice asked me to call him last week. then today i get this stupid pop up virus that can't be closed or removed. i searched on line for info......nothing yet. please give us some feed back if you know how to remove this virus. thanks

I had the same issue.  just turn off your PC, and all of your tabs and things will be deleted! it will go away!

Yeah I'm having the same problem. I'm getting scared because I don't want my computer to get hack or something.

Of course you should never post your personal/financial information on an open forum web site. Come on now! The problem is known as 'scareware'. Yes, it can lock up your computer, but the information stated was correct. Hold down the power button to shut the computer down. Reboot & run your antivirus software.

Same issue with brand new laptop. Guy said I sounded very knowledgable and had lots of information off the top of his head so curiosity got my attention. When he placed me with the Cisco IP address repair woman I refused to provide payment information and told me I was wasting her time and I was an uneducated person. Major scam !!!!!!!    Saying they're from Microsoft tech yeah right acting like this and requesting $600 to fix!!!    Fixed computer myself for good by turning off the computer. Starting back up and running AVG free scan. Also I have McAfee livesafe 2015 that did a malicious file removal.    Indian scammers said it was hackers (they called professionals) stealing my IP address

I just got the exact same message on my computer with the same phone number to call as well. I am backing up my files onto a hard drive and then using my Viper antivirus to get rid of the problem.  After reading all these text above I am not calling that number.

Got the same thing, figured it was legit and payed the guy to fix my computer, now its son there again. Not doing this again. any way to keep it from coming up? paid $200. feeling stupid now.

I've got the same problem and  cannot get rid of this virus!!!  Called the number and refused to pay. Wanted to charge $499 to fix problems and then $399 to protect for life. I told him I wasn't paying anything and he got very hostile telling me his time wasn't free!! I told him it was this time!! Tried your suggestions and it won't work for me.  HELP.......

Turn off you computer, and don't use it at all, until you can get help from a TRUSTED computer company. These people put the virus on there, and will never remove it for any price, BUT they will take and use your credit card number if you fall for their scam!

I was ignorant enough to give them a credit card number. As soon as I got off of the phone with them I called my card company and told them about the scam. They said they would take care of it. I hope they do!

Same thing unbelievable!! This guy got so mad when I said I think this is a scam he flipped. Said he's Microsoft technician I gave him access to my computer but no credit card info I hope he didn't ruin my brand new computer!!!! Wow!!!

This is a scam. The message is coming using explorer. Use task manager to disable the app and message. Then remove it from the m/c.

This just happened to my daughter. He said he was Microsoft certified... I told her to hang up as we needed to talk. I ggogle everything, found your site and told her to shut off her computer since it was locked up. She said it went away and now is restarting her computer and hopefully iy doesn't come back idk...
She has webroot for security, he said this was a low security level but I heard all these people talking in the background and didn't feel good about talking with someone I could not understand.....
Any advice please would be most helpful.

had the same problem.  held down the power button and rebooted then went into the control panel and uninstalled A1PCCLEANER and it worked.

WalMart has nothing to do with it. It's a popup scareware. Microsoft OS? press 'ctl-alt-del' to go to task manager. Find the .exe file under 'processes'. Click it & then click on 'End process' (bottom right). After than run your up to date antivirus software. Have a MAC? Disconnect from the internet & then type anything in the address field. It'll come up blank & then you'll be able to close (it's usually) Safari. See here:
