- antonio| 2 repliesHas been leaving a recorded message with a serious talking man claiming to be a lawyer working with Civil Claims Recovery. Made me sound like a criminal with so many infractions against me and threats to contact my employer too. This call was made from a supposed local number 330-960-2440 matching my area code. The man leaves another number to call 844-897-3388 and when called you get a few different operators. When you ask them a serious question they put you on hold and hand it off to another good bser. If you ask them an honest question they get loud with you then eventually hang up the phone. The claim sounded legit and they had some information about a debt I had settled 2 years ago. I knew that it was settled but called the creditor anyways to make sure and they also gave me the number of the people who settled the debt for me. When you search debt collections in Delaware they are nowhere to be found and the website claims they are part of The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals (ACA), false claim. So yes this is a scam and I love justice so I will do what I can to close them down for good.

- BigA replies to antonioOK, here is what you need to do and to know. First they have violated several sections of the FDCPA, but since they talked to you, they are now required to do this:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
I doubt they will, but since you have an address, do this:
You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All
Now, they are not registered in any state as required to legally conduct business. Also stating that they are lawyers without actually being a lawyer is against the law also. So, in addition to filing reports on their criminal activities here, also file a report with the Delaware State Attorney General and report that they are impersonating an attorney here: http://courts.delaware.gov/odc/ as well as in your state, and also file a complaint here since they are not registered in Delaware as well: http://revenue.delaware.gov/
Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices: https://800notes.com/faq/attorney-general - BigA replies to antonioI forgot to mention. Whenever someone calls you up claiming to be a lawyer, tell them that you want to know what state(s) they are registered in and what is the BAR number(s) for those registrations. If they won't give them then that is proof they are lying. If they do, go to that state and check the license number against the name given to you.
- BustoutThey called us about a 5yr old debt that turned out to be legit (the debt that is). The recording was just like the post above saying it was from an attorney. I called the number. When I told him what I needed in order to pay the debt in full, he became louder and told me what I was going to do. When I wouldn't stop talking, he hung up. I tried calling back an hour later but no answer and no answering machine.

- Pjay| 3 repliesJust received a call simultaneously on both my cell and work. A Mr William Rossie said he was with the legal offices of civil claims recovery basically saying that I will be served at both my work or home... I wish these people would leave me alone! Called me on a local number 510-335-1132 but told me to call back on his toll free number 844-897-3388 WHATEVER!
- Caller: Mr William Rossie
- anonymous replies to Pjay| 2 repliesI got this same call about 15 minutes ago from the same alleged Mr. William Rossie. Phone number on my cell showed 209-454-2002 but said to call bat at 844-897-3388. Right away said it was a scam. These people are so irritating.
- Kdkmommy replies to anonymousI got the same call about 2hrs ago! Scam!
- anonymous replies to anonymousI just got the same call and he gave the same name with the same call back number.
- BrandonI just call and scream add loud as I can. You know they're wearing headsets and a banshee howl in their ear had to be a little annoying. Then I called them multiple other times. Crystal that keeps answering the phone asked why I keep calling. I told her that they keep harassing me do now I will do the same to them. Everyone should just flood them with calls. My wife actually thinks they are employed by company that's trying to collect legitimate debts and don't know they are scamming people.

- Over itGot the same call! Every few months I get one of these random calls. Never return the call and I'm never served on the threats because it's a scam. They always get hostile when you ask them to follow lawful protocol.

- antonio replies to kay| 1 replyThey are a scam don't let them scare you. The alleged debt they harass me about was paid off 2 years ago and I was sent documentation to back it up so I waited for it. I just got a call from them again and this time I got loud with them because I have the facts in front of me and they hung up. They won't give you an address, fax or a legit name to contact.
- antonio replies to antonio330-331-5821 another Civil Claims Recovery number. It's funny because wherever you are from they make themselves look local to you. This number comes back as unknown when researched about a half hour from me from a residence. They always have the king smart [***] available to go off on you. So if you want to vent go for it and give them hell just like they give you. I got nowhere with any documentation to me from them so I handed it over to my attorney and blocked their numbers through my carrier. You could either ignore them or fight, I like to fight for justice. I won't be happy until they are shutdown.
- AdinaI have gotten calls during the last few weeks with the same recording from a William Rossie. Local numbers are 601-265-3716 and then 601-281-5330 when I blocked the first number. He leaves the 844-897-3388 number. Total scam.

- Kevin CastoroDear Department Of Justice Agent! 10/5/16
I,am getting a harrashing phone call from some guy who claims to be and says he is Mr. Williams the attorney and a debt collector at the Legal Office Of Several Claims Recovery even though he is not really an attorney and is not a debt collector even if he thinks he is, I know it is not true which means it is faulse and fake that he is pretending to be one when I know he is not and he said that he has my name and my social security number under the file claim a against me from a fault claim to execute both my residents and my work even though I know all of what he said to me is not true and I know he is scaring me because he wants all of my money and I know he would be scamming is because I know it is a scam which means it is not legitimate and I know it is faulse about exicuting both my job and my residents and I know it is not real and it is not true and it is fake and what is also fake and is not real and not true is that my name and my social security number he has on file case and claim against me and that is not true at all and it is just a scam. That's what I wanted to report unwanted calls to go after this person who thinks he is Mr. Williams and I know he is not Mr. Williams at all and that's why I would really want to press charges against him to have him arrested and be put in jail and or in prison to have him imprisonment and in detension center as well too by the court of law. I want to press charges against him right now to be put away for good. That is the law is why I,am reporting against him for unwanted calls that I got from him who has a fake name pretending he is Mr. Williams when I know he is not Mr. Williams at all. That is a full report against unwanted phone calls I received from him. The report I made and a claim is treason and true. That's all the report I,am sending to you about. Thank You! In Best Regards: Kevin Castoro- Caller: Legal Office Of Several Claims Recovery.
- Cynthia Hartman| 4 repliesI have received several calls about a unpaid bill that was $200 and they now want $1600! After my being very calm, mild mannered and simple nice and after explaining I had no intentions on paying $1600 , I was called a [***], rachet and ghetto! The caller Steven continued to call me names and cussing and would not allow me to get a word in. I had spoken to a supervisor Chris Von, I believe that was his last name, he was just as rude. The every day calling even after I informed them to take legal action against me seems like a former of harassment! Surely there must be something we can do?
