- Caller: Windows
- CharlesGot a call from a David that said he was from Microsoft and that I had a virus in my computer. In the first place, I can't see Microsoft calling me just because I have a virus. He was wanting me to open Explorer and go to Google. I told him that we had a bad connection on the phone line. He was very persistent in calling me back. It didn't feel right.
- BobbyJust hung up with the same call saying I had a virus and please log onto my computer. Asked him which one and he had no idea.
- JOEL BERNABEI received a call from 845-241-1234, which flashed 'U.S. Government' on our phone screen. The man on the line has a very heavy South Asian accent. He claimed representing Windows, and that our computer system had been hacked. I asked him why 'U.S. Government' appeared on my phone if he was working for Windows. He said that the U.S. government authorized Windows to get through my system to locate these hackers. He was very persistent, but doubted his narrative altogether. I asked for his number and promised to call him back. I web searched the phone number, and read similar stories.
- Caller: Windows, U.S. Government- as claimed by the caller

This IS a scam. Period.
These calls are ALWAYS. FAKE. MICROSOFT DOES NOT AUTHORIZE -ANY- 3RD PARTY COMPANY TO COLD CALL ON THEIR BEHALF. They've said so plenty of times: http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx AND a 3rd party would NEVER, EVER be able to ID a computer with "problems." - Tamianth replies to roger woodUh huh! And You have just won the shill of the day award! Queen Elizabeth 1 has dubbed thee Sir Shillsalot!

I fell for this hook, line but not sinker. I do have a problem but was skeptical of how they knew. He had me open various programs and showed me the error messages. When it got to the point where he than wanted my ID and ISP address so he could look into my PC stopped. I did not at all feel comfortable and said goodbye. I called another company and they said Windows would never call you. It is funny, all the people who believe this company is legit, can not write English. ?????? Hummmmmmm!!!
