Receive same message from diffferent number yesterday. When I put my ‘lawyer’ on the phone, they hung up right away

I received a recorded message from this number today stating that they were the United States federal government and that they've been trying to reach me for over 6 months and if I don't call them back at this number they will have to proceed with filing fraud charges against me and my family.    Right!    I received a recorded message similar to this one yesterday from another number stating that they were the IRS . . .   we know the IRS doesn't call and leave recorded messages, they send you written notification in the mail.    Scammers.   It's so sad we have to deal with people like this and they actually fool some into paying out their hard earned dollars . . .
