Through online research, found this to be another medical alert scam.
If the caller ID is "unknown" or "toll free" and they leave no message, it is an unscrupulous, unethical, morally corrupt, snake in the grass and should be treated as such.

called today 0945,  no msg

Call from 845 2412303.  Caller ID says "Haversham NY".   No message left.    I don't answer numbers I don't know, so didn't answer.

Called today at 11:10 (PT) supposedly representing The Center For Aging.  At least 2nd such call this week.  I always end such robo-calls ASAP so I don't even know what the pitch was!

I answered the phone and hung up immediately without saying a word

Received a call from this number at 4:07pm.  I didn't recognize the number and let it roll to voice mail and they hung up after the greeting.  Of course the line noise after the last rain that is currently on the landline preclude an intelligible conversation.  This number is now cheerfully blocked.

Received unsolicited call.

Caution, 845-241-2303 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain, but they failed... you can still file a complaint here to fight back against unethical telemarketers.

After my 93yo received 2 calls from  "845-241-2303 Haverstraw, NY" showing on the caller ID, I answered his phone. A woman said she was with "ACS" and asked for a  "Jennifer" with our last name. We do not know and have never heard of Jennifer Same Name. She insisted that Jennifer lived at this number and asked me not to raise my voice when after the 5th time I told her she was not here and we did not know her. She then told me that Jennifer Same Name just spoken to her from this number and she must live here. She said Jennifer promised to donate $15 to ACS. (Funny how American Cancer Society has the same initials.) I told her to take this number off of their list and to never call again. My sister took the phone and proceeded to yell, scream and swear at this woman. The woman did not hang up but continued to have this argument with my sister, insisting Jennifer lived at this number. No I don't think many telemarketers would stoop that low.  I put my father on the Do Not Call List.

Registering with the Do Not Call registry is a good thing. Doing so will prevent legitimate telemarketers from calling your father.

But it won't stop calls like this, which are made by criminals who want to scam you by pretending to be someone else. The DNC registry has no jurisdiction in the countries where these calls are made from. The caller ID information, including the supposed phone number where the calls come from, is faked. The callers are untraceable.

Arguing with such callers, as you've surely learned, is futile, but then so is engaging with them in any way. Once you do, your phone number becomes a target for other scammers.

Save your blood pressure. Look into call blockers and find one that works for your father's phone. Mine has saved my sanity ... and my hair.

The caller, called us @ 11:55 A.M. 03/16/2015, when I return the call, the recorded message: " Sorry you can not complete the call now, please try later. " all day long. I don't know the nature & purpose of this call.

According www.800notes.com, this number was used since 03/11/2015 to call people randomly.
This caller,  Out of area ( displayed as ID on our phone.) called us @ 15:55, 03/14/2015. While I was in backyard. When I returned the call,    message:"  Pleas leave a massage, the mail box is full."   . Then it immediately hung up one me.   .
I reported this unwanted number on 03/14/2015, but now it disappeared.

called twice in one hour.  won' t say anything when machine answers.

Called and said they wanted me to have a "Medical Alert" system with no cost.....I didn't answer, just picked up and listened for a very sort time.  I knew it was a scam ..... it calls all day long .
