Got call and listened to automated message, then someone came on.  I told her to take my name and phone number. She immediately hung up.  Did not want to hear what I had to say. The message in my opinion cruel. Unfair, to make a senior think if they don't get this alert, then you may die.  That's a cruel marketing tool.

    RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT
I am on the Do Not Call Register and have been for three years! At 8:17 AM on July 25, 2014 my home landline telephone rang. My caller ID showed the caller as "ALERT" followed by the number "1-845-241-2335." I've had numerous calls from the same outfit whatever it is? The caller never says one word. Just remains on the line a short time then eventually hangs up the phone. Whoever this sick alert call is being made by, they are in direct violation of the Do Not Call Register. Also, I'm retired from law enforcement, I'll forward this potential scam to a Federal Investigative Agency and maybe they will determine if this as a potential internet fraud of some time. I've really had enough of these crap calls!

A  robocall about a Senior Assistance Program, free food coupons, alert device, etc. Face it people - The health care field is loaded with employees that make a little extra dough by SELLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!! All it takes is a hospital visit, home nurse, or a physical therapy appointment, or even a doctor visit to get your number "in the system"!

I also got this call today.  Caller ID says alert.  We do not answer calls from other area codes we don't know.  Don't know about anyone selling my info since I have not been to the doc for the past year or so.  Most of these idiots have robots dialing numbers until they get a ring then record it so they can keep calling.  they could not care less about the DNC.

Rang, I didn't answer, no message left.  "Alert" in caller ID.  Then I blocked it.

Editorial:  The Do Not Call List manages to keep legitimate businesses from calling you.  However, scam artists and crooks don't care about it.  Amazing the NSA can listen to German Chancellor Angela Merkel's phone calls yet the United States federal government can't/won't crack down on criminals placing illegal calls.  And Congress wonders why their approval rating is heading down to 0%.

These people are busy!  All these new posts since my last one, 48 hrs ago!
Still trying to give me grocery coupons (probably 5% discount on items no one ever buys) and a "free" alert system.

I doubt they even try that hard to get your phone number - it's probably just an autodialer calling numbers randomly, or from a list of numbers all the scammers seem to have.  I'm 40 years old, hardly a senior!  So why are they calling me?  Because they just keep trying until they find a sucker for their scam.

Got this call a short while ago, with "Alert" listed as the Caller ID.  Answered, and caller did not say a word.

No, these calls are specifically for senior citizens and probably are easily bought from banks and other information collecting no conscience business on the side thinkers.  AARP is big in selling insurance why not our names and addresses as well?

I get this same recorded message from many different area codes but it is the same person's voice on the recorded message regardless of the area code.

Call said it was a verified number. Caller said he was from Optimum and asked if we were happy with our service, had any questions and were satisfied with our bill. I wouldn't have answered except I was expecting a call and thought that might be it. Now I'm concerned it was some kind of scam
