Chase Card Services - They are probably trying to collect funds. It's the beginning of the year and they think people get money from their income taxes to pay them exclusively.

getting calls asking me for the last 4 of my social for a chase card ( which I do not have)
or the last four digits on the card.
when I hit star till the robot gets messed up it asks for a full SS number (which is not bank protocol)
or the full number on your chase card again not

seems like a scam as I don't have a chase card
and the fact that it asks for information on the basis of verification.

who knows just really annoying that they keep calling.

What credit card company uses a regular area code like 847? All Chase numbers are toll free 800 or 888 numbers. This seems very fishy

This IS Chase!  I just went online to Chase's website filed a dispute for a charge on my Chase Visa card, and they called to verify the details of that dispute.  And to those of you worried about it not being an 800 number....outgoing calls from companies don't need to be 800 numbers.  Those toll free numbers are there to benefit those of us calling them!

Then why didn't they leave a message? When I have had credit card fraud the bank leaves me a voice mail message. I call the number on my credit card.

This is another scam. I receive missed calls twice a month on my cell phone from numbers that leave no message. When I look them up they are scams.

This was a legitimate call after a fraudulent charge was made to my card.  They were calling to help me resolve the problem.

    It was not a scam.

No, this is not a scam.  In order for a company to offer a toll free number to its customers, that toll free number has to terminate somewhere, hence the 947-426-9209 number.

I disputed a charge on my Chase credit card and this is the number they called me from, however, they left a toll free number for me to return the call.

This is not a Chase phone number. Only call Chase useing the number on the back of your card.

I've got two of these calls in last month. I call Chase after each call useing the number on the back of my card and they told me its not a Chase phone number.

Within two days I have received calls from these numbers:  847-.426-9209  --  847-488-6000  --  847-783-7066

There was no message so I didn't return their call.

This is in fact Chase Bank, and yes East Indian personnel are the agents. In this case, Chase has apparently bought Barclay's Bank and with it my Air Trans Credit Card. The card was in a low interest rate payout program set up by a 3rd party debt collector back in 2009. The card is now showing to be current and is no longer in a workout program. It is current and owned by Chase in their bank.

This was indeed Chase bank alerting me to unusual activity on my account. The message they left correctly identified the last four digits of my card and did identify fraudulent activity on my account. Pay attention to this call, check your account online, and if you're suspicious of the number like I was, call Chase with the phone number from the back of your credit card to discuss any possible unusual activity.

Have been receiving calls from this number for a few days, but I never answered. They called early on Sat morning, so I decided to look up the number and call it back. Indeed, it says it's Chase Bank, and the voice prompter says to enter my account number or my social security number. I do not have any accounts with Chase bank, and I never have. I waited a long time (probably 5 minutes), while it kept asking me for this, over and over. Then, a guy with an Indian accent came on, and I hung up. I think this IS a scam. Here's why:
    1) Neither I nor my husband have any current or former accounts with Chase Bank. 2) They call too often, and at weird times of the day. 3) We have been victims of identity theft in the past, so I have educated myself about how these crooks get information. 4) I worked for a collection agency for years, and I know how they "trick" people into giving out their personal information. I checked all my credit bureaus to make sure there was  no fraud, and there was not. I think this is a phishing scam. I *know*, because in the late 90s, when I worked in collections and people were much more trusting of phone calls then they are now, I could get people to give me: social security numbers, bank names and bank account numbers, etc. We used the information to legally place leins on property, but still-- I just think how people would give up this info. Anyway, please don't give these people any info. Pretty certain it's a scam. Thanks.

I called the Chase 800# to verify if this number is associated with their company. I was directly connected from Chase to this number directly to discuss my Chase Credit card. If you don't have an account with Chase, someone you know might have your number listed as the primary number on the account. They generally call because a payment is past due.

Got a call from this number. Caller ID says JP Morgan Chase. I don't have any relationship with Chase, and if they were calling with legitimate business they would have left a message like any other reputable financial institution does. I call phishing.

    This was legitimate.

From Chase Credit Card services in response to my entering a disputed charge online last night, to get additional info for their review.
