Called and left a message saying that it was Chase and it was about an important business matter.  They said to call 888-293-5321 and if you look that up it looks like a scam as well.  They were asking for someone that I'm no longer living with and I have no idea how they even got my cell number

I may have given too much info. My name & address. I refused to divulge my ss#.  But, maybe my name is all they needed to
Steal my identity.  I put a fraud alert on all my credit reports. This IS a scam.

No, this is confirmed as a scam. Please do not give out any information on your account. The perpetrators of this scam are phishing you for information in order to create fraudulent transactions against your account knowing that if you call into the legitimate Chase fraud department, they would most likely not make you liable for these fraudulent transactions if proven to be fraudulent after a in depth investigation.

Chase will not call using state side numbers. Chase will only call from numbers that are have 1 (800) or 1 (888) designations. We will not call asking for personal information.

I called Chase earlier today and they asked me for my password and I told them I don't tell people my password over the phone!   They said they would call me back and this is the number they used from the Fraud dept.   But, then they wanted my Credit card number.     I think we are caught in an endless loop!!!!    They want to know who I am and want my credit card number and password but I can't tell them it because I really don't know who they are.    Grrrr!!!

Catch 22.   Damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
Hmmm.   What to do .... what to do .....   :)

Nice try, scammed.  It's NOT Chase.  The chick I talked to tried telling me I have Chase Freedom card. I don’t.  She then tried the tack that someone must have opened one in my name and offered to transfer me to the application department.  They want your personal information.  Hang up, it's a con!

Got a call today form this number.  The caller asked for my wife by first name; she wasn't here so I took a callback number (866) 301-9838.  The caller, a very young lady, did not sound like a trained, bonded Chase representative so I checked both numbers.  The number is a Ameritech Landline in Dundee, IL, a suburb of Chicago that is 90% residential and parks.  Caller ID is "JP MORGAN CHASE."  My wife has a card that has Chase on it, but there is no reason that they would be calling her.  On the off chance that there was a fraud issue, I told my wife to call the number on the back of her card and see if there was something that they needed to discuss.

I called Chase's 800 customer service number, and they verified it is a valid number with JP Morgan Chase. It's card services.  Apparently another Chase customer, who owes money on their cards, had this number previously. They were very nice and apologetic, and removed my number from his account.

This seems to be Chase as they said someone tried to open a Disney Rewards Chase card on my account, just asked if I did this or not, tried to give me credit check options told them I'd handle it myself if this did indeed happen. Checked my credit report as anyone can 1 time a year from each of the 3 credit rating companies, was surprised someone listed 2 addresses I reside in where I never did and did indeed try to open a chase card recently in my name at one of those fraudulent addresses, quickly disputed with the credit bureau the 2 addresses and also notified them about the 2 attempts to get cards under my name and put a fraud alert on my credit report. So it seems to be legit folks, believe it or not.

I have been receiving lots of calls from this number. I picked up one call after getting tired of it, and they claimed to be calling Chase and that I had an outstanding balance on different charges.  I told them I had cancelled that card in 2014 and there is no way I had any pending balance.  They proceeded to ask about giving them my social security or another credit card number to charge those overdue payments!! Of course I did not give them any information.  I called the number after and Chase Collection Department answered.  I informed them of the matter and they transferred me to the Fraud Deparment. Chase informed me that they had not called me and that there were no new charges in my name to my cancelled credit card.Definitely someone is using Chase number and making robo calls for fraud and identity calls.  This is crazy!
