Unknown number - blocked.  Don't think SSI is going to call.

This is listed as Vale Lab, but I spoke to them, they said they were Com Ed and wanted to sign me up to drop my electric rate. I called Com Ed and they said no one had tried to make contact with me and that this is one of those companies that have you sign up for a different rate plan. You pay them for the electric and Com Ed delivers it to you. The same goes for Nicor. Lots of people sign with these companies. I have myself, but my phone is on the National Do Not Call List and they are not suppose to be calling me. So I am going to report them. I checked Com Ed's rates right now and it is 0.0619 per kilowatt hour, (a little over 6 cents an kh). This company is offering about the same price. The really bad thing is they told me they were Com Ed. Big no no....

No one there when I answered so out of curiosity I called back.  It's a SSI survey.  Recorded message gave instructions on how to opt out by email but she was talking so fast, I'll have to call back to get that info

SSI called a few minutes ago and asked if I was the person responsible for the ComEd bill.  When I asked why, she wouldn't tell me, so I blocked the call.

6/16/16 just got call from 847-637-5432 . Caller ID showed "SSI"! N message left. Agree SSI doesn't call!

Never call back.

If a caller is legitimate, they'll leave a number and a message and they won't keep calling.

If the caller is a scammer, then the number may be spoofed, so if you do reach someone, it may be an innocent party or it might be a non-working number.

If the caller is a scammer and you do get a real phone number, then all you are doing is confirming that they reached a valid number - and they'll sell your number to other scammers.

There is zero benefit to calling back.

The caller ID comes up as SSI. One might think that the Social Security Office is trying
to contact you. Call stopped ringing before I had a chance to pick it up? - Good thing!

Called at 6:45pm on Friday evening. Did not answer. Did not leave a message.

Caller ID said SSI but being the 4th of July I really really doubt it. Just another scammer.

SSI is a survey company Survey Sampling International, and I could see them calling today figuring people would be home.

Survey company. They have a website where, supposedly, you could opt out of calls. We'll see if that happens......Now I'll probably be getting tons of emails, but thought it was worth a try.

This company called at 3:00 am this morning. Caller ID shows as SSI. Same number has been calling repeatedly. I have a phone blocker connected to my landline, but I still hear one ring and am able to id the caller. I'm pretty certain this is an offshore call center spoofing the area code and number.

I wish people would do a little research.  SSI is Survey Sampling International, a survey company.  They have a web site and an opt out on their contact page.  https://www.surveysampling.com/contact/

I have received 4 calls from this number - listened to one and got the same ComEd pitch, ignored the rest. Where do I report them?

I just called back and the message said they were SSI doing a survey. If you want to opt out, send an e-mail with your phone number to OPTOUT@SURVEYSAMPLING.COM. I  just did it - we'll see what happens...
