I got a voicemail from a man saying, "We are looking for the whereabouts of (then an automated voice said the name) Kevin Williams (which is not me). Failure to provide said information will lead us to file necessary paperwork with your local court."

On top of having the wrong number, there were privacy issues violated on the call. When I called back to question them as to how or why they called me, the young lady was EXTREMELY rude. When I pointed out to her that I was an attorney, she became very defensive and said, "Sir, I can't go back and forth with you. I will just remove your number from our list." At which point I responded with, "Well wait a minute, what kind of skip tracing agency is working off a list?" She then hung up on me.

It's a clear scam. Stay away and report it as much as you can.

Got the same message. Called back and asked who they were, gave a no.e of Western, I asked Western what, and lady said just Western. Very rude when I informed Ed her that they can not give out the information as a message on matters to someone else, by the fair credit reporting act. She stated that my number would be removed, that does not give me my sleep back as they woke me up.

I got the same phone call they said they would file the necessary paper work with the local courts. Something about a formal complaint made against me. The gentleman did not give his name. This is one of many calls I have received in the 8 months.I do not call back

Left the same message about looking for someone I have never heard of, and threatening legal action if their call wasn't returned. Gave no company name.

This number also called me saying the same thing.  It was a real person, but the name they mentioned they were looking for was in an automated operator voice then finished with a live person again.  Looking for the whereabouts of ******* and would be filing paperwork with the local courts.  I will not answer.

Company was hesitate to give name and then were hateful when I told them I had reported them to BBB. They told me good luck reporting them. They had hundreds of numbers!

This number called my cell phone, I missed the call. I called them to ask why they are calling my cell phone. Very rude female wouldn't say anything. She hung up. Wish the person whomever okayed cell phone numbers to be published to everyone, rots in hell. My cell phone is only used for emergency because of invalid in home. What good does it do to even report the calls here, no one does anything to stop the annoying rip off telemarketers and criminals trying to rip you off.

Same thing happened to me. Tried to verify birthday and ss#. I just said,  "I'll call you back" and hung up.

TOTALLY AGREE. wish there was something we could do. I plan on contacting the news about this company "western" literally harassing me and my entire family...even distant relatives. I had it out with them on the phone...they swore at me, wouldn't give me any info and ended up disconnecting the number soon after. But today they have started again using a different number. This is completely frustrating and embarrassing.

"What good does it do to even report the calls here, no one does anything to stop the annoying rip off telemarketers and criminals trying to rip you off."  The point is to warn others.  Western is a known criminal enterprise possibly offshore in the Caribbean.  This web site does not report your posts, as is clearly stated on the home page.  You must do that.  You must block their calls we can't do it for you. You must report these calls to the proper agencies to help them track down these crooks.

They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.

Scam!!!

Just got the same message with same exact threat!!!! Calling authorities now to report! The voice on the voicemail is distorted.  Block the number, they are a scam and will try anything!!!!

They stated I owned $400 and needs to resolve it and will be going to court if I don't resolve it now! She was extremely ruin when I requested that she mail me a proper documents to show that I own money. She then told me good luck in court then hung up!

who do we need to report to.. they are looking for a exs mother. I've had them remove my number from their call list or FILE 3 time.. well 4 counting today.. they rude, and ugly and im really tired of them.

Received threating calls at my old job and a old friend that i havent spoke to in a while, stating i have a complaint against me and legal actions are being taken. They informed my friend they were a sherrif

I got a similar call from a guy named Josh. He asked if I had a lawyer, I said my father and brothers were all attorneys. He then asked if I had children... I told him I would not answer that. He then asked for my social and birthdate. I didn't give that either he was blatantly phishing for info. THIS IS A SCAM!

Western is a known criminal enterprise pretending to be a debt collector.  they try to scare people into paying them extortion money.

They left a voice mail saying if I don't contact them with information on a person I would see them in court. They didn't say who the person was and didn't say what there company was. This sounds like a phishing scheme. Don't give these people any of your information. Block and report them.
