Called claiming to be a Texas compliance officer of Texas. Said officers would be sent to my home and place of employment to locate me.

Had three messages in two days saying there was a case in SC against a relative of mine but my address (I don’t live in SC) was the contact info they had. They left a case number after the first call. I called back after the third said “this is your final notice...” and got a woman who answered “Jailens.” When I asked what the organization was, they hung up.

On November 14, 2019 at 9:54 a.m. CST,  I received a phone call from a private phone number.  The voicemail message mentioned the threat of prosecution if I did not make arrangements to pay a previous debt.  I unfortunately made arrangements but soon discovered that I was a victim of a scam. When I called the organization back, I asked, per my rights under consumer financial protection laws, for them to send me an official letter regarding this debt.
They mentioned that it was already previously sent to me and that they could not send another one. They also said that the name of their company was "Liberty" ? , that they are a "Freelance Proceedings" office,  and that the person that processed my payment was. "Nicole Baker" During this troubling situation, I have contacted the FTC and three attorneys.  All three attorneys confirmed that this was a scam and for me to close my account and not make any further payments.

I was called about a loan from Check-n-Go about a loan they said I took out in 2017 in the amount of $1000.  I thought it was a loan from a sister company that I was paying off a loan with.  Unfortunately I didn’t realize this was a scam until I looked up the number and check-n-go and several reports about it being a scam.  They said they called me on November 14, 2019 and that’s when I made the agreement.  I closed that bank card as soon as I read what was happening.  They keep telling me they are getting a case filed against me for an order of location.  The number that shows up on my caller ID says Private Number.  Please be aware and careful to anyone else receiving this call regarding this so called loan.
