They called my son's cell phone.  Without seeking information about who they were talking to they said someone named Kim Li used me as an emergency contact.  They say there is a claim against Kim Li and gave me a claim number.

Seems like an odd phishing expedition to me.

I got the same call. They were also calling for my son and gave me a phone & claim number. Said a suite was filed against him. I got on line and started searching and that's how I found this.

I just got called with this number not even 5 minutes ago. They are very threatening and saying you need to pay up now or the order will be taken away. I know nothing of this. It didn't even have to do with me, they said it is for my father and now they know that he resides here he needs to call this number and provide the claim number they gave to me before immediate action is taken. This sounds like a scam, and the lady slammed the phone down on me. They called my mom earlier today too! I'm about to go to the police!

I am getting the same calls.  They keep saying there is a claim against me and they will serve me if I don't settle with them. They won't disclose any of the paperwork with me.   The person who is serving me keeps telling me to settle with Consolidated or I will be served.  I think it is a way to get someone scarred so you give them your cc info.  Crazy!!

This is a scam.  They try to pressure you into paying, saying that they are representing someone whom you owe money too.  They pressure you into disclosing personal information, usually it the address first to "serve" you with paperwork.  There is no claim, this is a scam.

We received a call, our niece received a call, and a cousin received a call looking for our Nana.  They won't leave a name but leave a claim number and a threat that they have a claim against Nana for a shipment.  They leave a name to call back and a phone number.  You can tell it's a call center due to the background noise.  I love it, let them call me back when I'm home!

Received a message on our answering machine yesterday, and it was very hard to understand. The name they said is no one at our house, and it was obviously a call center. Same type of call stating a charge and claim had been filed against this person and they had this 1 opportunity to respond. As you all know, debt collectors do not withhold information. If they want to get paid they are going to insure you know it is a bona fide credit issue by indicating who they represent, the amount owed, and the payment options. That is how they get paid, by resolving these unpaid debts. Certainly they have a reputation for being rude, but not evasive and uninformative.

A couple of years ago, I received a message on my company cell phone for one of our employees and it was very similar. It is a scam that has been running for a while. If I receive a call or message from an unknown number, I always check the number online before even considering returning the call.  Glad to see you are all of the same thought process. That is a few less successful scams!

I received a call from these people in regards to a shipment that was made. After I asked them about the shipment, they said that a relative had a shipment and that they were in trouble. The crazy thing is that my relative lives across the US. The girl asked if I had the relative's number but I'm thinking if it's my relative's shipment and they made the order, why are they calling me? Anyway, I told the girl that I didn't have any info for them. She proceeded to say that my relative is going to be sued and go to jail if they didn't respond. I was given a phone number and case number. I called the number and it said Consolidated as the company name. I checked the Better Business Bureau and they are not a legitimate company. Truly a scam.

My mother received a call while she was at work that I was in a legal suit and that they need to verify my address. So she calls worried and frantic with a claim number. They told her that legal "action" was being taken and that I only have that day to respond. I do so research and find this site before I call back. When I call a lady named Lacey answers and says that I breached a contract with a credit company by commiting FRAUD. She asked if it was my intention to NOT pay them back, however not once did she say the call was being recorded. She said that the only thing she can do at that point to stop ANY further action on the credit company's part was if I paid half of the amount owed. I told her that I don't have that amount and she said that she just needed a card to put on file to put a hold on the claim. I told her that I would need a day to think about it yet she was VERY persistent to get me to pay. She said that I was at risk at receiving formal papers and after that there was nothing she can do. I didn't call back but she did the next day as well as another person, Tom Peterson with a very threatening tone. What's phishy about this is the next day they VERIFIED my address yet I didn't give them any information. The last message he left said if he doesn't hear back from by the end of today that he wishes me luck. And that I've been officially notified. I would just like to point out how much BS this is. They both said they represent "Creditor" ... that's the name. HA! SUCH a scam. Oh! and they also harassed my friend. who lives in a different city than I do, that she wrote me a message on Facebook expressing her concern and that they called 5 times in 1 day .Since I've changed my number they're trying really hard to reach me. This is absolutely ridiculous that they are threatening people with jail time, court orders and legal action JUST to collect money. Tell them to f*** themselves and that your lawyer is aware of the issue. That's it's being handled and to lose your number. Don't stress over this nonsense. Same goes for phone number 855-223-8220

    CAUTION
    !!!A Cautionary Experience-Please Read!!!
I received a call from an alleged "locator" as well. Threatened to serve papers and that I was being sued, she was extremely rude yelling over me when I tried to talk. Was given 1-855-223-8220 to call with a claim number, when I called I was asked if I was trying to commit fraud on a card which I do owe money to and haven't been able to pay due to a major back injury from a car accident causing problems working. I paid $500.00 (all I had) and made arrangements to pay a smaller amount 2 weeks later, and I was assured the second payment wouldn't be processed unless I called. When I tried to call back 1-855-223-8220 stated disconnected. That's when the caution flag started flying. I should have known better before paying them money. I saw this thread and called the 1-855-505-3184 listed in above comment. Get this, the ext # went to the same person I spoke to on the first call, I asked for legal dept immediately and gave no personal info. Was transferred to another person, a male, he said he'd transfer me to the legal dept voicemail. The voicemail was the same man! The man stating legal dept was out to lunch was the same exact distinct voice and accent! I called my bank and they froze my debit card. It's a good thing, because they attempted to process the second payment without authorization. I filed a fraudulent transaction claim with my bank and they had the $500.00 back in my account the same day! That is why I am very lucky. Normally I am so vigilant about checking the validity of something like this, I guess being threatened with getting sued for fraud I just freaked out and didn't think. I'm very sure my personal bank would not have credited my account unless they were able to verify what my gut had told me almost too late. This company is fraud, it is a scam!
