There was a message from this number, by a fellow (might have been a recorded message, it was hard to tell), who said that somebody at my phone number was going to be served papers by a loan company to settle a debt. He said to call back at that 855 to reach the plantiff. When I called the number, a recording directed me to leave MY Name and phone number after the beep. Now, 2 years ago, I might have left that information on their recording, But today I know (which is kind of unfortunate) that there are people out there that wouldn't think twice about taking me for every penny I've got. Really, how do these people sleep at night?

This company has called me and family members stating that they need to speak to me regarding some court documents that they wish to serve. I call back the number only to get a recording to leave a message. Well still have not received a call back and after reading other post I gather this is all fraud. These people are crazy.

I got a call from a woman asking if i would be home so they could serve me with legal papers.When i asked who they were from she told me to call an 855 number which i did.I talked to a man who told me they were from CMAG and i was being sued he would not tell me who it was it was from but i could settle it if i sent them a certain amount.I think it a collection agency but i an not sure. they sure did not want to give me any information.

Has anyone been served Legal papers from Cmag?

This is th 20th number from CMAG  Now they have called my parents number about some payday loan.  this is making me so angry because they hve me blocking my phone.  I think a bill should be passed that their should be no more prepaid cell phones without checking out the person being checked out first.

Yeah they called me saying I could settle out of Court for a cc I had 6 years ago that I don't even remember

FTC just sued a large group of collection agencies located in the city of Corona, alleging numerous violations of debt collection laws.

If you are having any problems with illegal debt collection practices, and in particular if they are coming from a collection agency in southern California, or near Corona CA, contact FTC.

Actually the caller said he was a process server and left this number to call if I wanted to avoid being sued.  Since I know that I don't owe any money to anyone and haven't done anything to be sued for that I am aware of; I blocked the caller after the third message left. It was an obviously unprofessional way to serve papers, so I figured it was a scam.

I encountered the same problem as all of you... I played along just to mess around with them. I gave them some bogus information and acted like I was scared and I was ready to give them everything they wanted.

IT IS A TOTAL SCAM! I don't know how they think that they can get away with it. My advice is NOT to give them anything accurate about yourself.

They called my cell AND land line saying I had 24 hours to call back or they 'couldn't help me'.  As I don't owe anyone money, I called back 3 times - the first time a guy answered "hello" - the next 2 times they asked me if I was "insert name here" and used my maiden name, mispronounced.  Each time I was transferred, the call was cut off.  HOW ARE PEOPLE GETTING MY NUMBER???

We got a message for my husband. When I called back they could not give me any information. They wanted the address, empolyer address etc so they could serve papers. I asked who they were representing and they could not tell me that either. The message they left on the phone though was not very private at all.
