Scam phone call from a fake Microsoft Windows Tech telling me that my computer has errors and that I need to download a program from www.Ammyy.com that will take over my computer and clean it up.

DO NOT DO THIS. This is NOT from Microsoft and will give complete access to your computer

I received a call from a guy who had a hard time pronouncing Microsoft. Sounds like they are in Dubai pretending they work for Microsoft. I hope no one falls for this scam.  Shame on these bottom feeders!

Just received second call from this fake “Microsoft” tech telling me, my computer is generating errors, the computer is hacked, messing up Microsoft servers and he can help me.
I didn't have more time to ask him for details (next time I will), just told him I am system and network engineer for over 20 years and I am not running MS Windows, but Linux and he hang up...

A man claiming to be a Microsoft technician attempted to make me sign up for a sight called Ammyy.  Before I signed up I read the fine print and hung up.  He almost had complete control of my computer.  He appeared to sound Indian, and had difficulty pronouncing the word Microsoft.  If he gains control of your computer, immediately freeze all your bank accounts,  turn off your internet connection, and shut down your PC.  Boot it back up in safe mode and check for viruses. Remove any present.  Take your computer to a technician to remove the malware and check for viruses.  The people using this phone number are out for your credit card numbers, bank account, and personal information.  It is probably safest not to pick up, as they could charge you for the time you spent on the phone with them.

He said my Windows computer was infected and to go to it so that I could connect with them in the Cloud. If I didn't it would cause my computer to crash and I'd have to get a new one...Yadda, yadda. I said this is an odd call, considering I've always owned Macs.
Indian accent. Boiler room voices in the background. Already had my address as well as phone and name.

I got a call from this number on my cell phone and called it back, surprised that I missed the call as my phone didn't ring.   The guy had a thick Indian accent and said he was from Microsoft to help me fix my computer problem.  Was I in front of my computer?  Um, riiiiight.  I hung up.

Missed the call on my cell phone from individual with foreign accent.  I had to ask him to repeat himself several times to find out who he was calling from.  Asked me to get to my computer that they received critical error messages that he could help me fix it.  Before thinking that it could be a scam I scheduled another time to call.  Then afterwards googled this site and "BLOCKED THE PHONE NUMBER" on my cell so that he couldn't call back.

Scam call wanted to fix my computer.  I told him I did not have one and he told me I had purchased a windows computer this year which was correct.  I told him I bought it for someone else.  I could barely understand him and he had an Indian accent I believe.  He said his name was Masouk Judd and for me to have the person with the computer to call him back.  I am on a do not call list.  Made me wonder if they were getting info from Best Buy.  He kept saying the computer had a virus and would crash.  I'm sure he would have loved to get into my data and accounts.

Said that they could help me with my infected computer. I told him it wasn't infected and asked how he got my number. He stated it was registered to my computer. I told him that I wanted to be removed and he said no way that they could do that. I explained that they could and that they weren't allowed to harass me. He said he'd keep calling me back..so I hung up

You may have been subjected to something like scam  #3, as described at

That site also shows how other 800notes visitors have reduced the number of telephone scams and telemarketing calls they receive.  (Links to Amazon's phone blocker devices and apps, as well as government reporting sites are also provided).

Got called by this number but I didn't answer it. Ironicially, I had looked up some microsoft windows problem info through google search on my cell phone several hours before I received this call. After reading these listed post, it appears this number's owner has some sort of access, or malware attachement, to get my cell phone number when I did a microsoft windows problem search using  google on my cell phone! Makes me even more irrate because I am on all the DNC list and now I can't even rely on doing any type of google search without getting unwanted calls.

Same Indian man from the fake Microsoft company strikes again. Luckily, I was smart enough to hang up, but only after listening to him for awhile. If you get this call, don't even listen. Hang up immediately or he will take control of your computer if you do what he asks!
