I keep getting these annoying phone calls, they never leave a message. My motto: If it's important they'll leave a msg.

No message left. Annoying.

received call said they were from CIBC hung up

Received automated call from 1 855-228-3528 purporting to be from CIBC bank.
They knew my name & middle initial and gave several options to enter numbers on my
Phone - even "press 4 if this is wrong number." I don't press any numbers as it can authorize ling distance charges etc.DDon't know what they are up to but hung up. Frickin BS scam is what it was. Banks give personal calls, not automated ones. #scam #dirtbags

Same call 8 times n the last 24 hours! "CIBC" automated call, with my name too. Hung up each time but wondering when they will call again. Totally fraudulent I'm sure!

Reported them to my bank (CIBC).
Anyone else whom this happened to should do the same. This data leak needs to be plugged before these dirtbags make off with some poor suckers money. Also press CIBC how it is that these people have the information that they do in order to make these calls.

If this is happening in Canada, it may also be related to that hard drive that was lost in quebec. it had personal information of Canada Student Loan borrowers on it. Anyone else here in that boat? Last I heard it was over 500 000 borrowers between 2000-2006 whose personal data was compromised.

12 calls in 2 days - I called that number from a land line - the lady "maria" didn't say my name but asked for my middle initial and last name and address to confirm. I refused. She told me she would mail me something and not call again. I contacted my branch and they are looking into it as well. Wouldn't you know? about 2 hours later, that number called my cell phone. I didn't answer.
Very frustrating!!!

Yes, I got 3 calls today from this number. I hung up every time. Definitely annoying.

I traced where the call came from: Winnipeg, Canada.
Is it the CIBC telemarketer?

When you received call from this number, it originated from CIBC Loans dept. (Winnipeg)
They call you when you have an outstanding unpaid monthly payment.
They don't leave message on the answering machine because of confidentiality.

same here, got these calls too.  Why  wont they use the CIBC caller ID if they are from CIBC. I dont usually answer the phone if its an unknown caller..

i keep getting these . I have nothing outstanding, my son did have a student loan during the above years.
CIBC is identified on caller id if they call.
I refuse to answer if I get an unknown number - if they want to talk to me - tell me who is calling

the 855 area code is reserved for toll free calls in which the calling party is not charged. Instead, the charges for the call are billed to the called party. I got this info from area code .org
