I received a call from 855-257-0385 Ms Damali requesting I mail or fax copy of my 2015 W2 they had my business ID #.

Well, if you've read down this far, here's my two cents' worth.  This is a valid call from the Social Security Administration.  If you are getting ready to turn 65 and setting up Medicare, you need to go through the SSA in order to start the paperwork to get your Medicare card.  Since trying to get through can take a long time, you have the option of getting a callback, and that's what a call from this number is.  It's always possible for lowlifes and scumbags to spoof this number, and if they do, report it immediately.  The government may not care about junk calls to or from your phone number, but if it's one of theirs, I'd bet they'd be willing to do something about it.

Someone called me and asked for Mrs. Tortilla. Not sure if that is actually what she said because come on what a name but she did have an accent. I said that she had the wrong number and she hung up.

7:06 am and 7:08 am called my landline and hung up when the answering machine came on. Re: other posts - Pretty sure the SSA would not call before "business hours" and would know what time zone they were calling. And, their caller ID would not be "unknown."

Forget SSA, now they are using this number to run health insurance scams. 'You can get Health insurance with no deductables what so ever. No deductables for hospital, doctors, and dental and vision are free. Oh brother...

I just received a call from the same number. "Meghan" said she was calling from the Social Security office and that they did not receive the W-2's from 2017 that were supposed to be attached to the survey that was recently returned.  I told her I would play along and she laughed like she hears that all the time. She tried to give me a fax number to send them to, and I told her I would reach out to my corporate tax attorney to send in the forms. She asked if I still needed the fax number and I told her, No, my corporate lawyer will have that info. My lawyer said he's never heard of Social Security calling anyone - ever. It is all done officially by mail. Beware.

SSA advises to only accept calls from 800-772-1213 when expecting a call back from them. I didn’t get a call back from SSA but instead from this number, 855-257-0385. I get calls from this number already and have it saved as Scam Likely on my contacts. When I looked at my voicemail records, I noticed a message from this number posing as SSA. So unfortunately it is best to wait on the line with SSA to speak with an agent rather than opting for a call back.

I received a call at 5:21pm stating that number is being compromised an to call 1-800-772-6772an a man named Madison  a me on. He asked for my 1st name

Got a call regarding a client that I don't appear to have. Stated I filed a 2017 W2 with an incorrect EFIN #. said to call 1-855-257-0385 Miranda Ext 5205. She did not pronounce my last name, only my first. Typically SSA will send a letter, not make a phone call.

I got this same call too same name and now they keep calling back every hour.  The number it shows on caller id is 770-615-4834 from GA but they say they are from Baltimore MD, and leave the 855-257-0385 number to call back ext 5187
