Received a letter stating "you're going to receive an Android Touchpad Tablet Computer from our gifting department, at no charge." This phone number was provided to call and also received a $100 Restaurant Card!

What's this about?

Its a scam.  The caller will ask you for a credit card number to pay shipping and handling, then spend your card to the limit and never send you anything.  Or he'll as for a bank account number and spend that money.  Or he'll ask you to pre-pay taxes and keep that money.

He'll find some way to trick you into giving him money.  He will never send you anything.  Throw the letter in the trash.

Promotional gift lure to try and get you to attend a sales presentation for a time share, travel club or maybe Direct Buy. The gifts are probably not worth your time to attend and you need to be married and in the correct age and income groups to qualify.

It is direct buy I googled the address on the return address on the same letter I got. its a club they make you pay an arm and a leg to join and then you get small discounts like 30%,  off retail prices. You can do that at costco for $50/yr!

Received a letter in the mail claiming I had won a free android tablet!
Yeh,sure its free. Gonna cost me big time if I fall for this scam and
try to call them. BTW, return address on envelope was local, Florida but
the postage cancellation showed it actually came from California!
Doesn't matter where it comes from, NO SUCH THING AS FREE!!!!

Received letter promising free tablet and $100 gift card.  Return address comes up as a Direct Buy location local to me, cancelled postmark has letter coming from Sacramento CA.
