I got a fraud alert for $28.71 for the Lyft limousine and taxi service in California well I live in Georgia. It 4/7/2021 and this scam is still happening the last place I used my card in store was at a gas station inside. My bank alerted me I called and canceled the the card two hours later I got another alert they tried it again but the card was canceled something needs to be done about this company it’s been going on every since 2017 and it’s 2021! It’s this same phone number listed on the charge. 18552800278

They claimed they were Spectrum TV and wanted me to upgrade my equipment to include TV service at $44.95 per month but I started questioning their authenticioty and they hung up on me.

Found pending charge on my account from this number as a Lyft. Called my bank on this. I am watching and will not accept any charges attempted. Bank told me that nothing was charged yet but I don’t want any test charge pending either. Advise taking card information off any sites

Just noticed two pending charges on my bank statement: PURCHASE LYFT *SCOO 855-280-0278 CA for $1.44 and PURCHASE LYFT *TEMP 855-280-0278 CA for $3.00 (I've never rented a scooter in my life and the other charge is pending for a limousine rental!).
Called my bank right away, card is cancelled but will have to go through the hassle of contacting the  companies I have on auto-bill pay to give them the new card information.
Unbelievable it this continues to go with the same number after so many years!!!!

I got a fraud alert on a transaction with this number on Christmas day 2021 for $97.99. I looked at my account and there was another transaction pending for the same "merchant" for $81.99 right before it. The merchant name for both transactions is ML8VGZKUUFD4FEM (of yeah, totally legit). I called Bank of America and the stated it is listed as a taxi/limo service in California. She tried to verify the phone number with no results. They are crediting my money and sending a new card. The last transaction before was getting gas on the same day in New Mexico, where I live.

Possibly your card was "skimmed" at the pump?

I just woke up to a few charges on my card.  Called my bank to dispute, was informed the charges were for Lyft services.  1) I am based in Singapore and 2) we are still in the endemic phase and borders have just opened up.  No way I would have been able to travel to USA.  Card has now been cancelled and again go through and will need to go through the hassle for all other recurrent payments tagged to the card.

got charged 3 times for lyft rides. never used lyft. in total bwas charged 30 dollars smh.

So you reported the fraudulent transactions and had the card cancelled, right?

I get a notification every time a purchase happens on my card. Just had one from this number and they took $25 for a lyft. I don't even have a lyft account. Froze my cards and got new ones. As soon as it's done pending I'm getting fraud report done. I don't know anyone in California, how in the world they even get my card? 2023.

Happened to me this morning! Luckily I was $1 shy so the card and transaction was declined..  I haven't used lyft in over a month and I still have my card.  So somewhere somehow I suppose there is a card skimmer in nw Dallas.  I will go get a new bank card today.

Someone tried to use our bank debit card five times today, each time for Lyft 1-855-280 0278.  Fortunately, in each case, the bank declined the charge.  I called and canceled the debit card.  The crooks apparently had my card number, but didn't know the 3-digit security number.  Curiously, I hadn't used that card in years.

This place had 2 unauthorized transaction on my account… I can’t believe how people desperately needed money just to scam someone like it’s so [***] up that people need to stay can steal everyone identity without us knowing

3 charges from Lyft but my bank declined the charges I guess they suspected that it is a fraud

Got a charge from Lyft City Bike and this number was under the merchant name. Actually used City Bikes in NYC but Lyft didn't record this charge and it happened when I was already on a plane back to Europe. Ridiculous that the scammer's operating for 10 years now. Happy 10th anniversary I guess.
